What's your newest Buck knife

Just arrived today in a small batch that found its way to my door by way of a sale at KC. Buck Hexam assisted flipper. I didn’t get it for any specific purpose, I just thought it looked cool … and it’s cheap. 😁 If nothing else, Buck sure knows how to design a blade. Nice action, very smooth with zero wobbles, and an interesting configuration for a Buck with the sliding button lock, which also has to be engaged to flip it open as well as to close. The assist is snappy, but it’s still easy enough to close with one hand.

Ghostown Custom Knives put up on Facebook a 110 TRX with chip textured scales and it looked cool and sold very quickly - I didn't buy it. I requested that they do the same thing on the 112 TRX and they agreed. I went all-in and got all three colors in the G10 and the sport in Micarta. They do look fantastic.
Wow! Those are nice! Did they send you the scales or did you have to send the knives to them?

BCCI mail call. Got the other BCCI 35th Anniversary knives I ordered from the BCCI Member store. Two 112s 440C with Koa wood. Note the old 2-liner tang stamp. And the 117 made of Ironwood. Both are beauties. I'd like to get the 501 too but $350 is a lot. If I hadn't bought the stealth one, I think I would go for the BCCI 501.

So here is what is happening with my preferences for my collection (in order of priority): Note that I have started to like the 700 series now.

112 - 700 series - 212 - 117 - 401 - 300 series - 110 - all the rest

I haven't blabbed about my Buck Combo Knife Gift Tin collection for a while. It is because I haven't really found any new ones. I'm missing about 16 or so that I know of. Well, I found one the other day. It's not in the original clamshell but I'll take it. I love the bear picture. The "UNKNOWN" comes from the fact that I don't know the original part number because I can't find any in the original packaging. If you have this one in the original packaging, a) would you consider selling it and b) would you at least let me know the part number? It would be like CMBO-XXXXYY format.

H Happy Hippo That Koa is pretty; makes me glad I ordered one. Hope it's as pretty as yours.
The one in the middle seems like it's the best but the other one shows its grain some at a different angle and lighting source. Also, I always put mineral oil on all my knives before I put them away. After I did that it seems that the top one looks better now. But again, it could just be the lighting or my imagination. Neither one seems to show its grain like the December 2021 BOTM did. That one almost looks like fake grain. :)

This arrived last Friday. A personal "grail" Buck for me ever since I missed out on it during the original BOTM drop. Also received the 501 Stealth Run this week (and still need to get some pics of it).

I know a place that still has these in his store. If anyone wants one PM me for the link. Warning: They are on sale but still not cheap.

That 117 Ironwood of yours is killing me. Yours looks really nice. It looks nicer than the picture on BCCI's site. I'm leery of ironwood because to me it is a little hit-or-miss sometimes.

As Gimli said in LOTR: Certainty of death (if my Wife finds out I am ordering another knife), Small chance of success (of me being pleased with the ironwood). What am I waiting for?

Is your Avatar Race Bannon, from Jonny Quest?

Yes it is!
That was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. I remember having to battle with my older sister for television viewing rights, since Jonny aired at the same time as American Bandstand on Saturday morning. I never won. She was bigger and stronger and my mom administered harsh punishment if we hit girls (but it was OK for my sister to hit me, to a degree).

I'm starting to gather this years Christmas Bucks (have to start early) and the current web specials are nice USA made bargains. I have 2 of the gut hook Bucklites fixed blades on backorder. The NS drop point 112 'might' be gifted but for now it's for a Custom..20230826_183344.jpg
