What's your newest Buck knife

You made me go and look at my new 426, for the "nubbin". You do mean the little raised tab on the spine that meets another raised tab on the lock bar, correct? I don't own an LT for comparison, but my 2012 model 422 has them as well.

Yes, that's what I meant! I didn't have it in front of me when I was typing my message.

I've never owned a 426, just the older "original" version of the 422, which did not have the raised tabs. Until today, I only saw that on the 110 LT and 112 LT. Maybe Buck had some old 426 frames and built them with parts from the 110 LT?

Happy Hippo that 112/113 set is one I wanted to get the 112 out of for years..but I never could find a bargain to buy the set. It has a high radius grind drop point blade and I 'think' it's the only 112 to come with that particular grind. One odd fact I seen perhaps a dozen with either the 112 or 113 having a big hole in the burl..not that it's a bad thing.

Yes, I thought I would never get that set.

It.. like many 112's and other Bucks like it are on my bucket list..Many years ago I decided that unless a knife was a bargin and I had the resources at that particular time I would have to wait. I had a limited budget I could devote to my collection and it's saved me many impulsive purchases lolol! But I've missed some fantastic knives.

I was thinking of going through every catalog and newsletter and listing all the variations of 112s there are (not including private customs). But have you already done that? If so, would you share the list? I suspect I have a mere fraction of what is out there. My collection has stalled since people in the Bay want too much for their stuff. I have commissioned quite a few customs in the meantime. I am waiting for one you may like, if it ever comes to fruition. I sent the guy the materials but his waiting time is very long. Hint, it involves the 47th element on the periodic table.

Did the Pawn Shop circuit. Picked up a 726 that looks like it's never been used for $19. Still has close to a factory edge (found that out dinking with it while I drove home). Hit it on the strop. Never had a Spitfire before, makes me start to think I should order that March BOTM. Lol.

Happy Hippo I never 'created' a list but what I DID do was go through the special project lists and in particular I paid a lot of attention to the BCCI newsletters that usually had a list made by Joe Houser of them. Many years he had small pictures printed in the newsletter and information on shieth, packaging, and price. Maybe January for the year before? I never really chased many LE's because of the cost and simply because they were not 'odd' in some way. I loved Employees knifes because of that. I especially liked to find advertising, union or company safety award 112's because many never seen Ebay but once in a great while and I found them really interesting. But there IS some great rarities! My 'Zeal' advertising 112 was made for a plastic company that made small fishing lures for the Japanese market and since 2012 I've seen 2..One was beaten/rough and was offered for over $300.00. One was NIB and was offered over $600.00 as the lures are highly collected in Japan. LOTS of info on the BCCI site but you really have to dig to find it. After over 100 112's and health issues that really put a damper on displaying especially the last few years, I don't chase as hard now. 20181105_230948.jpg20190616_200451.jpg

Yup. I know the Special Projects spreadsheet and BCCI newsletters very well. I am going to read each one again to isolate all the 112s. I have already recorded when a 112 was mentioned in the dealer catalogs. There weren't as many in the catalog as I thought. 112s started to gain more catalog mentions after 2018.

Two knives received in mail. First, Joe Houser Special Edition jigged buffalo 112 with iron wood and jasper inlay (25 made or 10 made whether you believe the COA or the special projects newsletter. Second, Leroy Remer 121 made for BCCI 35th Anniversary.10 were made. Red/white/blue acrylic with mirror polished blade. Both are beauties.

Ghostown Custom Knives put up on Facebook a 110 TRX with chip textured scales and it looked cool and sold very quickly - I didn't buy it. I requested that they do the same thing on the 112 TRX and they agreed. I went all-in and got all three colors in the G10 and the sport in Micarta. They do look fantastic.

I absolutely love those! Is there anyway to buy one of them for non facebook users?
