When it's not exactly Made in the USA - Hoback

Protesting a double-standard is not the same as defending the maker.
There is no double standard ANY maker caught selling knives made overseas as made in America will get the same treatment. Fortunately, most other makers have integrity. Hoback and qtrmstr do not.

I don't own a Hoback, but apparently there's a lot of people that do like his designs and knives. Quality of materials? Is it just the USA label? What if his ridiculous prices dropped down to say $200-$300 and be in the same category as other knives with Chinese labels?

I'm sure it's in the dozens, if not more. Of the top of my head: Cold Steel, Spyderco, Pro-Tech, Quiet Carry, Vero, Varga, Pena, Buck, Sharp by Design, etc., etc. Even Benchmade made knives in China in the early days.
Bonus lightning round, how many of those folks claim their knives are made in the US (or because they were “too busy”) allowed their products to be represented at made in the US?

AGAIN, Hoback never claimed that his knives were made in America. Y'all keep forgetting that eentsy weentsy detail.

None, as far as I know. Including Hoback.
He admitted to doing exactly this. Then he lied and said he tried to tell the dealers but no one listened. Fortunately, the dealer who signed him up was here to tell us for a fact that Jake hoback lied. Are you calling Jordan a liar?

Dude admitted he makes knives in America. His website claims it. I am actually pretty impressed at your dogged determination to die on this hill.
So if he makes one knife in China, he no longer can say he makes ANY knives in the US? Oh, got it. Thanks for clearing that up. Microtech will be pleased to hear that revelation on account of their new Bravo model. Now they’ll have to say “made in China” for all their stuff.

If you want to see something funny, go to BladeHQ > folding knives > and filter by made in USA. You wind up with a list that includes Civivi (China), Bestech (China), Chaves (China), etc. Individual knives are more likely to have the correct COA.

Show me where he claims that all of his knives are made in America, because I'm not going to be able to prove a negative.
Did you watch the video? He knew his knives were being sold as made in America and never did anything about that. So he knowingly sold knives made overseas as USA made.

He didn't claim to have contacted every dealer that sells his knives. If a dealer gets information about a knife wrong, which happens ALL THE TIME, is that now the manufacturer's fault? If so, every manufacturer is in big trouble.

Ok. You believe whatever you want. Obviously nothing will change your mind. If you want I'll send you the pieces of my hoback and you send it in for warranty.

I guess if that’s the new standard, makers are going to have to assemble digital media teams that scan the net looking for any discrepancies under “description and technical information” for all of their distributors.. because the maker is accountable, not the person that wrote it. Well, at least in Hoback’s case.
