When it's not exactly Made in the USA - Hoback

Reading the comments on Jake's social media, it's cracking me up that his supporters are all crowing about how this is all the dealers' fault. LOL

Oh well, even Will Moon and Survive?Knives still have supporters in 2022, so it goes.

I'm simply saying that you can't offer something you heard him say as proof.

He can testify as to what he has said. Those who have spoken with him can testify as to what was said. Any documents can be examined for whatever light they may shed upon the matter.

But you, as a third party, keep arguing that something you heard from someone else is proof of its veracity. It doesn't work that way.

In a civil trial, it would be determined by the preponderance of the evidence. I have a feeling it's tilting in one direction more than another, based upon culpable statements by the man himself...and statements of folks he's done business with.

You and I can only make reasonable assumptions based upon that information. No more, no less...absent concrete evidence.
In a civil trial, or criminal one for that matter, the burden of proof is on the accuser. He would point to the absolute absence of evidence in his motion for summary judgment, which would be granted.

Hahaha, dude in the court of public opinion, based on his own words and actions, he's toast! Knife community persona non grata.

He literally tanked his entire company in a few days.

Luckily, this isn't a trial.

Let's face it: Blowback making that video is probably the worst thing he could have done. He doesn't talk about where parts come from, he flat out specified "entire batches of knives". His admissions there, plus his absolutely pathetic excuses "Well, I didn't want you to think I was a liar, it was all the dealers who follow the first one!" make for compelling evidence all on their own. I mean, really? He "couldn't figure it out"? REALLY really?

LOL

Here's a clear case of Hoback lying to a dealer and claiming all his knives are made in the USA in this very thread.

Some people just want to argue, facts be damned.
That is clearly NOT an example of Hoback lying, but rather it's an example of a dealer making assumptions and stating false information based off of podcasts and Youtube, as he admits.

Again, two dealers in this very thread are denying that claim. If you're going to infer that they're lying, at least state it outright.

I sold a paint-by-numbers water color claiming it was a Picasso. Picasso's estate should be ashamed of themselves.

You know what they're not doing? They're not claiming he told them his knives were made in America, because he didn't. They posted false COA information and now they're trying to blame Hoback for their effup. "But we saw it on Youtube!" 🤣

Oooohhhh...so now it's the customers who are at fault here, they should have known, right? I see. Dealers and the customers are the bad guy here, not the dude who was making knives overseas and didn't tell anyone. Got it.

This is entertainment gold of high caliber.

....He said he makes knives here in his video. Ok, at this point, I think you're just messing with us, right? I mean, newish member, not a lot of posts, making zero sense, doubling down on a dumb argument, it's a joke, right?

Also, what false "COA" did anyone post?

So? He does make knives here. He also makes knives overeas. Kind of like Spyderco.

Hoback asked Whitty to sell his knives at USA Made Blade, a store that only sells knives made in the USA. In doing so, he lied to Whitty and represented all his knives as made in the USA, when they are clearly not, by his own admission. That is the definition of deceit (or a lie, if your vocabulary only includes three letter words).

Remember Jake says it was our fault for wanting his knives.

Dude, please stop. Your argument is bad, and your logic is even worse. Spyderco marks the origin of their knives on the knives themselves, as well as the packaging!! Hoback doesn't!!

P.S. I love that your supporter keeps "Liking" your posts because he can't stand me. LOL

🤦‍♂️ I'll never understand this kind of person. Logic and reasoning out the window. Facts out the window. Perceive things however their mind makes up in fantasy land. This will continue till the mods close this, this guy and the dude who tags along with anyone willing to disagree won't change their minds.

Mind boggling.

spyderco labels them as made overseas...hoback didnt........see the big difference....someone already posted spyderco boxes showing labeled where each knife was made .....

In fact, Spyderco makes knives in China, and you know what he does? Yep, as I already said, he marks them "China" right there on the blade. No hiding, no shame, no trying to obfuscate where that particular product comes from. Crazy, amirite? I know that the reason Blowback doesn't do that is because he knows people by and large aren't gonna pay $700 for a Chinese made boat anchor.
