Noss about wore himself out testing the FFBM to destruction... Give X one of thoseAfter some thinking, I’m going to say send him whatever knife you want. I know people won’t want to see one destroyed, but one way or another, eventually he’s going to get a knife. So it might as well be a good one. One that’s a staple of Busse quality. A thick somnabish that’ll go down fighting or won’t go down at all. Think about it, either way he’s going to get a blade from the “toughest in the business”.
I just watched his estwing test, at the end he says “we did it, we killed the estwing”
This man won’t be reasoned with.
He’s going to try to kill the blade any means necessary, and sooner or later he’ll get a Busse blade regardless of what we say.
It will be publicly displayed for the world to see.
Its going to happen, as it did years ago with Noss, and Cliff (rip). Their tests, in my opinion, only strengthened Jerry’s standup reputation of great quality and warranty.
I’d Rather he get a blade worth testing than a smaller blade that’ll eventually break and have the world gossiping about how Joe Shmoe broke a Busse with a rock.
So given my thoughts, what knife do you guys think would be a standard of Busse quality. My immediate thought would be some kind of battle mistress, infi of course. Or res-c blade for extra handle durability like the Alpha regulator 9.5? Hog Gemini? Trough raider?
What do you guys think?
Good idea, so far my vote goes to either the Fat Ash or the FFBM.Something to beat that Dam metal pole. It seems like the vibration test gets them all in the end. I was thinking something in the old SYCO-S77 like the jackhammer bit type metal and thick as hell too. A fat Ash in S77 or similar maybe, well good luck folks.
From what I’ve seen, there IS a reason with Joe X (unlike people like “Whistlin’ Diesel” on YouTube who literally destroys expensive trucks for funWhat I can't wrap my mind around is taking something that someone poured their hard work into to produce, only to set-out to destroy it for no real good reason.
You probably don’t watch NASCAR.I couldn't watch his videos because I thought for sure he was going to cut his hands or stab himself.
Same.To put this in context, if it wasn't for finding NOS destroying a Scrapper 6 I may never have found Bussekin blades
Good points.. he will test Busse and I think soon. Its all up to that final test he usually does smacking it against the steel pole. If INFI can take the shock it will survive, if not it will break. How soon it breaks could be a problem for Busse. It will unfortunately have a effect on the brand if knives made out of low toughness steels like 1095 outperform INFI.After some thinking, I’m going to say send him whatever knife you want. 420hc if cooked well is extremely tough. Same level as A8mod, 3v.Watch him test the Gerber Strongarm not a very expensive blade at all but it took all the abuse he could muster. I couldn't believe the tip didn't snap off as I've seen him snap many blades in half. It's really pretty interesting what some knives can take when pushed to the extreme limit of the steel and heat treatment of the blades. That Triad lock is pretty dam tough as well. I enjoy destruction or lack of with certain knives. you just have to give him a chance and watch a few as I was a naysayer myself at first until I watched a few. I think Noss would like them as well. Some will like destruction testing and some will not to each their own, but Busse got their reputation by extreme testing in the beginning as well. Have fun folks,![]()
