Who has found THE knife?

People get obsessed about different things. Whatever you happen to be obsessed with becomes a passion. Then you get so wrapped up in it, you are never done with your quest. That's just the way it is and without it life is very dull and uninteresting. Accept it and go with the flow! If it wasn't knives it would be something else.

IT CAN be done... THE knife. My Dad did it!
My Grail folder arrives next week. Can I do it???

It happened to me, at least it has for the last couple of years. My Sebenza has with me almost every day. When in the woods I may carry a multi-tool or SAK along with it but I haven't carried another folder. It was difficult for me to spend the money but I haven't regretted it once.

For pocket knife I'm set for life. Can't imagine anything fitting my hand better than a ZT302.

For fixed there's too many desires to satisfy them all... the perfect dagger, perfect skinner, perfect chopper, perfect sword, etc. I will never have 'em all.:grumpy:

This one is getting closer, Carbon Fiber Stretch, but, I modified the tip
made it humpless ;) has Carbon Fiber scales ZDP-189 blade a bit of heft
gives is a nice solid feel, like the point being lower than center line and
the amount of straight edge with just a bit of curve near the tip, as well
as no notch before the edge starts, plus the guard shape works very well
very secure in it's grip when in use.

I don't believe that I have found the "one" yet but I think I may have come close with the Imp made by Nemesis.

I haven't found THE knife believe that I have found "The Knives" that will sufficiently meet my EDC needs:

1) Endura 4 ZDP-189, Reground to full flat by Tom Krein
2) BM Presidio re-profiled edge by TK.
3) Tenacious, for the everday beater knife
4) BM Vex
5) Buck 110, for nostalgic reasons, it's a keeper
6) Bear & Son 5" fixed blade

That's all I'll ever need. My favorite has to be the Tenacious, ironically it's the cheapest of the bunch.

Personally I'm addicted to everything new. I love the initial hunt, and the feeling of wow what a cool/awesome knife. When the novelty wears off its time to find another. But thats not to say that I don't have knives that stay in my pocket and use all the time. Currently it's a DA lone wolf harsey with the hidden release. I've had Sebenza, and a whole bunch of knives and I like each for their own reasons. But why settle on one when you can have many? I follow that philosophy with most things in my life.

I'm sure it has been said but I hope to never find "the knife", I like acquiring and getting used to new knives. I don't think ever since I started buying knives when I hit legal age have I ever had just one knife or was thinking about the next one.

New toys are always nice to get :) as one friend says,
'You just like getting packages in the mail don't you? "
and maybe that is so!
I just ordered a new SAK to replace my electrican SAK,
now SAK's I tend to view them as more a tool than a knife
just my way of saying they don't count in this question of THE knife ;)
the one on it's way is the Harvester, has a pruning blade that looks
pretty handy, oops guess that is a knife portion...well there ya go...
I really can't win, BUT the Carbon Fiber Stretch has a lot going for it
and it may surface as THE knife for me, but I guess I'll always long for
the next bit of steel too, sad, but true!

I have 3 knives that are the 1 ( I mean 3). The buck 110, the syderco endura, and the buck canoe. The 110 is for outdoors, The endura waved is for edc, and the canoe is for edc cutting tasks

For a folder the best one I have is Spyderco Manix 2 with S90V steel and flat grind. This knife is close to perfection in every way. As I am an addict it probably won't be my last folder.

Convexed Model 8 by Dan Crotts. I haven't found a knife that better suits my needs as an EDC.

That is a very practical looking knife, thanks for posting it!

Yobbo--- lol!
"This" Grail folder has a Ti/CF blade. My "other" Grail folder has a steel blade. :D

Not yet. If you'll allow me to dream, a liner-less Stretch II in FRN and H1 would probably be it.
