Who plans on BUYING the BF survival knife?

I am in if the price is under $200 complete and if the knife is a woodlore clone with scandi "V" grind. Is the knife going to come with a sheath?

If style and price fit, I'm in.

We may have die hard Busse guy in..... ;) :D  .

As I mentioned before if you all haven't already please go here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=469146 and vote. If you can't participate in the poll (paying members only) submit a short response with the pattern you like best. After a few days we will count them up, and submit the winning design to a few makers that are interested in making the knives. From there we will hammer out the details.

Thanks to all that are participating.

Just don't make it with some sort of 'Rambo' cheesy imprint on the blade.
"Bladeforums Model 1" (or something) and better yet just a BF and a serial
number.

Having a choice of handle materials might be nice.

I have a feeling that is a concern for most ( me as well) thinking somthing like:

"BF W&S Knife" with a number on the ricassio. I know I don't want it splashed all over the blade to get rubbed off by use and the water stone;)

To remind everyone...... we have Spark's blessing as long as this is a "collaboration" and we can donate a knife to BF for Auction and I think Spark should get a knife for personal use as well.

So lets do our best to "collaborate" (compromising somewhat is a must) and will hammer out the knives to Spark later. Right now we are thinking a small % to the maker to make the two knives for Spark and BF to be donated.

Another maybe - - - price sounds good from what Ive heard so far, its gonna be under $200. Comes down to the final design and what the first example looks like.

I think a woodlore clone whould be great. The original ones are going for about $800.00 bucks on ebay. The grind doesn't matter that much but I give a slight nod to scandi. I also like the spear point of the woodlore over a drop point. Depending on price and design I might be in for one.

BTW..... Tknife is the "man with the plan". This is his idea and I'm just along for the ride.

Naw, I just brought up the idea, and I appreciate your help. I want it to be a true forum knife with everyones input and a majority vote on the design.

Hope we can get the votes tallied this week on a design, then on to the next step of who'll make it and what the price will be. With summer coming, we can all get out there and put them through the paces, see if we came up with a winner

With all the input.... a winner it will surely be:thumbup: ;)

Results so far:

Utility pattern with flat grind = 39

Scandi Grind pattern = 19

Scandi pattern with flat grind = 7

Chopper = 10

I'm interested, all dependant on the design really - I've all but given up trying to control my flexible friend.

(don't quote that)
