You mean we all have to post photos and real names of ourselves when we do a review from now on? Damn, I thought my real last name and first name initial were good enough for an Internet handle.
I like Noss' tests; they're fun to watch. Even if Noss weren't anonymous, would things change? Let's say Noss is really, I don't know... Bob Dozier. Yeah, Noss' real identity is Bob Dozier. I'll use that for now. Now, another poster has mentioned that several knife makers already know Noss' real identity. But somehow I doubt Chris Reeve is going to walk up to (in this case) Bob Dozier at the next Blade Show and tell him off because he took offense to a "test" done on YouTube or Knife Tests.
Likewise, once Noss is revealed to be (in this case) Bob Dozier, does that mean you will lose all respect for Bob Dozier?
If anybody should have a problem with Noss not "owning up" to who he is or what he's doing, I would think it's the knife makers themselves. I doubt this has happened though. I also doubt that Busse has sold less knives because Noss beat the hell out of a Busse on his site. I've found that Noss treats all of the knives he tests the same - he's going to beat and use them until they break. I've seen no brand preference or anything like that; he gave the Mora Clipper the same chance he gave the Busse.
ADDED: No, I have no idea who Noss really is. I don't care. Using Bob Dozier's name was for example only. If this offends you, please replace it with anybody else's name you'd like.
