Would you really survive?

Hey, that brings up another good point: Using your BK2 on a regular basis has got to go a good ways towards toning your muscles. Beckers are beefy blades!

Ooops, I meant to add more. As far as whether or not I would actually survive, I would like to think I would do alright. Having the right tools for the job would definitely help though, and with my trusty BK2 I feel confident I would manage to do decently. With some added tools I think everything would be much easier. Those other tools would include many more Becker knives.

GO BUY MORE BECKER KNIVES!

I definitely think having a little meat on your bones for insulation (i.e. not Michael Moore physique) and some prep work (learn to make snares, basic plant knowledge, and some fire starting tools/techniques) would be more helpful in a survival situation than 2% body fat or whatever.

Efficiency will help you more than fitness, beyond what you need to be basically "healthy".

And my opinion is that I think it is smarter to have a strong heart and fit body in a survival situation. but you can use what ever excuse you want to be out of shape...and you know you are or YOU wouldnt be acting like such a b!tch.

...someone's got their knickers in a knot.

Edit: can someone please tell this guy to stop using his thread as a cheap source of self-esteem? You can't just rag on everyone who doesn't think Lance Armstrong could survive in the wild.

LOL... I tip my hat to the OP. So cruel... but so true. My excuse is that I love to eat, work like a dog, and get home late from work. You need some serious, serious motivation to work out under those conditions. I should probably start hitting the gym, though. LOL

And so the drama continues, on the same note as it began: insulting people you don't even know.

I will leave you all to your daily testosterone injections ...

oh I can see band camp right around the corner...I'm outa here. post what you want i wont be responding. sorry for the train wreck of a thread. see ya

Well let me just say I use to weigh 265 with very little body fat.I benched 525 could squat 800 plus. Was always in shape, team leader on our Emergency Response Team. Then I had a knee replacement and 7 months later I slip and fall on ice and rupture a disk in my spine that required surgery. The surgery did not go well it is hard for me to walk 100 yards with out my legs going numb. Good for ya you lost 50lbs, but don't judge us as fat and lazy until you have walked in our shoes!

Well, we tried. But there's just no saving someone from themselves. For someone who claims to not have wanted this thread to become a train wreck, you certainly take every opportunity to keep derailing it with personal attacks, even when the other half of the abuse decided to be mature and actually contribute something meaningful to your thread. Which is more than you've done so far.

Pretty sure that amount of muscle would put a lot of strain on your ligaments, no?

Why don't you do us all a favor and lock this turd of a thread yourself.

Cause and effect. If you don't want the grown ups to rain on your parade, don't act like a kid.

Nope, I mean post #64. Which is why the mod made his comment. You know that suggestion I made about thinking about how someone is going to take it before you hit the post button? I still think that might be a good idea. And honestly, no matter how much of a tool you might think Pseudonym has been, you still always have the option of being mature and letting it go. Especially when you've already admitted that some of your comments weren't so nice.

Here's what I'd like to see from you personally: What have you found most effective in YOUR path to being healthy? How has that helped you survive better? Because personally, I think there's a lot more to be said about having some fat on you in a survival situation when you might not have any food, and having the knowledge to survive out in the wilderness, than in being muscly and fit.

Seriously. Take a look at some pictures of the most successful outdoorsmen and survivalists. There's not a one in the bunch who's slender and built. Perhaps before you go off on someone, you should take a look at the reality of the situation.

There's that, and also if it's gonna get cold you want a bit of fat to stay warm. You'd expend an awful lot of energy shivering with really low body fat.

Also, Ray Mears.

And don't forget people, all this excitement is brought to you by Becker Knife and Tool! The one stop source for all your post-apocalyptic and survival needs!

We now return to our regularly scheduled programming...
