Yep - worse than Lay's Potato Chips

Thanks man. I was really surprised when I discovered the rust. I felt it was in a nice, dry place. Here it is with the rust. Part of the streaks in the first photo are from batoning, and not actually rust:

The Brute is such a sick knife, like a 9 hit with gamma rays...
And yours is a beauty, rust'n'all.

Op

I started with a 9, it was the gateway Becker for me...
Then the 14 and the 2, because the 9 told me to...
Now, they're telling me to rescue their two cousins from extinction (the mighty 5 and 15)...
And they're all peer pressuring me into adopting a 21...
I think I might have a problem...

I hear ya JTmisterknifeguy - these things have a magical way making you yearn for another. Not because they aren't satisfying, but because each one seems to justify the next - or at least that is what I tell myself.

Heck I bought 2 BK5s and 2 BK15s just because they are discontinued and "slicey".

Only took 2 days before I broke a "rule" a set on myself after my last buy.

Swore to only buy stamped Ka-Bars, but now I just acquired a NIB BK1 Brute (Thank you Steve). I just couldn't say "No".
Great now you have to get all the stamped Camillus as well ! You and I need to go to BA , Becker's Anonymous ! Good Score

Thanks - I am going stamped Camillus on the BK1 and BK6 and only those two..... Save me a seat at the next meeting because I have a feeling that is a lie.

This is addiction is getting bad..... really bad. The BK1 has not even arrived and I had to pull the trigger on a stamped BK2 from the bay. I paid full price instead of waiting till Friday for the bidding and spent an extra $20 as a result because I wanted it here a few days sooner.

If that doesn't say "junkie"... I need help. Anyone know of a way to slow the need?

Once you got the back up for the back up [emoji51] [emoji51] [emoji51]

I definitely have that in mind - so I am going with the etched versions as users and stamped as back-up/collection.

Never thought about a backup for the backup.... Camillus justification.

The BK1 has made it to it's forever home (God willing). So happy to add this grail to the collection.

Just feels right in every way. While it may not be the "King", it certainly is a " Brute".

On a side note, the original hardware was missing and I would like to put on the factory scales, so I need a set. I went ahead and put the micarta scales on my BK4 and used that hardware, but I want to go ahead and get a set. I have seen places to get stainless hardware, but not OEM.

Anyone know if Kabar sells the sets of screws?

The 4 is a hell of a blade. Here's where I took mine to the cabin and used it for the first time. I need to get her back out again. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1223343-Fun-Weekend-With-The-BK4-(Photo-Heavy)

Nice, that looked fun. Great selection of knives there too, the Brute definitely earns its name. I can't wait to take my 4 outdoors, been playing with it all evening, making feathersticks out of some scrap wood, giving it a few good chops to feel the balance, etc. Now to get a kydex sheath for it...

Thanks man. The Brute is a cool blade, I love it. The 4's versatility amazed me. I really wanted to use it a lot, to get to know it a bit better, but then I got a 5, haha. The 21 should be in this week. Hoping like hell it comes in by Friday, so I can take it to the cabin as well. So much steel, and not enough time...

The 21 looks great, too bad there aren't too many stores here where I can handle it in person. Oh well, will have to just wait until I can order it.

I agree on the BK4 - it has grown on me with every use. The BK21 has peaked my interest, but I told myself that the next big Becker I buy has to be a BK6 - trying to have some control over my recent addiction.
