You can only have 1 EDC for the rest of you life, what would it be?

If you can afford it do not wait any longer.

I promise you will not be disappointed.

Yeah. :) I have a list of about 5 folders right now that I'm trying to decide which to get first. Out of the 5 ,three are Fallknivens.

If you limit me to just one, it'll be this:

Or to generalize, a classic 4-blade camper/scout pattern. And if I can add one more — hey, they're small! — it'll be a Vic Classic.

Honestly, a simple Delica will do just about everything I'd ever need an EDC knife to do. But I don't think one would last the rest of my life.

If I needed one single knife to use daily for the next 50 years, it would have to be something that can be serviced and offers a good warranty. Like a CRK Sebenza.

A bit off topic but could you tell me more about the container?

It's really old so I don't really remember its original purpose, but I think it was for movie-storing (one film next to the other). I found it during our last move and the folders seem to fit perfectly fine, length-width and height-wise.

It is a rigid plastic with a button closure, keeps them visible and easily found, very tightly secured and away from dust and moisture. Sorry not to help you much! :(
On the topic, if it wasn't the Pacific Salt it'd most likely be the Recon 1 (second from top), the Talwar (one over the Yellow Spyderco) or the Broken Skull (second below Yellow one).

Thanks. I was just looking for a better way to store my folder mess. :)

Probably small fixed blade like the Bradford Guardian 3 in 3v. Keep it simple and prevent potential mechanical issues and failures.

OK you are talking EDC, meaning something to carry every day. For me it needs to be unobtrusive and light. Something with a 2.5-3 inch fixed blade, relative easy to sharpen, like a mini Bravo from Bark river. Can hang it from a belt or carry it in your pocket.

This week..for my edc for life? I'd hafta go with my Sebenza 25,it serves all my needs!

Of the knives I have, Sebenza 25. If I had my druthers, a Large Micarta Inkosi Insingo if they ever make it.

Just one for rest of my life? Carried a Western W77 for at least 20 yrs, been edc a Gerber MK l for another 20 yrs.
Just one for rest of my life? Probably a Becker BK 10 in a custom Kydex sheath.

I think it would still be this:

The Umnumzaan might not be the very best at any one single thing, but I can't think of much it couldn't do well:
-Hunting/fishing. Check.
-Food prep. Check.
-Bushcraft. Check.
-Light & heavy home & work stuff. Check.
-Ownership pride. Check.
-Quality & longevity. Check.

Now, given that slicing a burrito is the most important EDC task that needs completion during my average work day, I've been carrying a 940-2 lately. But if I can have only one, it'll have to be something that can cut a burrito AND cape a mule deer.
