You could only carry one knife for a year.....

Can't do it! Not possible to only carry ONE knife for a year! I could get away with carrying one knife in civilain clothes for a year, just not at work (military) or when camping and hiking on the weekends. I would stick to my SAK (Wegner Evolution 10) in civilian clothes.

Since 11/10.
Except when I am in the woods.

Serrated Tasman salt and Leatherman Kick have been my combo for nearly 3 years. I rotate my fancy plain edge folders but would be fine with just my Tasman and Kick.

I like my folders but if I were limited to just the one knife, it would be a smaller fixed blade. My Becker BK11 is small enough I can carry it all the time and tough enough to do most of the stuff I'd want it to do.

I'd be grumpy though - that's not enough knives. :p

Beckerhead #42

Either my XHP military or SNG..I know their pretty different knives but i've been rotating pretty much these two for the past few months

I carried an endura for almost two years. While there will always be a place in my heart for it and it's VG-10, I would have to say my BM 890. I find that knife in my pocket more than any other BM or Spyderco that I own. 890 for sure.

It would have to be a fixed blade for me, you would have to be crazy to rely only on a knife that was already broken for a whole year. I would also have to be able to defend my self with it, and take it hunting and fishing. The best knife I own and the only one I would rely on if I had to would be my blackjack M14.

Now that's a patina!

To be honest I stick to one knife pretty easily. Even now with a decent selection. Longest with a good selection was my CPM m4 Millie for about six months. Then my sway back jack. This 2011 forum knife might be the new one

Sebenza. I rotate my knives pretty often but always come back to the Sebbie.

 I relied on folding knives for a couple of jobs that entailed pretty hard use. In fact I have used a couple of different models of "already broken" knives successfully as my only knife for over a year. Then again, I tend to be more practically minded to what someone can actually carry and use in the real world.

I used a Byrd Cara Cara Rescue for 18 or so months as my only knife at work and at home until I lost it overboard when I left it on top of a lobster trap and set the string of them back. Sal at Spyderco was kind enough to send me another one which I still carry and use frequently.

(Not my picture, but I own the same knife and it's what I'd choose. I've yet to find anything to dethrone my Sage 1 as my daily EDC knife.)

I'd carry a Tony Bose 4 blade congress with ivory handles.

You didn't say anything about owning the knife, just that we could carry it for a year.
