You could only carry one knife for a year.....

If I had to. Really had to. I could get by with my Victorinox Super Tinker. Let me have a simple Mora and I am well supplied. Don't tell my wife. I have her convinced that I need all these other knives.

I cringe at the thought of just one knife! but truth is Emerson Roadhouse has been in my pocket almost everyday for several months so I could do with just it if I really had to I guess.

didn't read through the whole 5 pages, however i thought i'd throw my two cents in for the falkniven F1. small enough to carry almost anywhere comfortably, but it packs a big punch and if given the chance, it will surprise you with what it will accomplish.

I have carried a 610 Rukus everyday for over two years. It won't leave my pocket. Sebenzas can't do it, maybe an Adamas 275 will, we will see. Instead of buying two, I decided to buy one and donate the rest to kniferights.

Victorinox small tinker.

I have a 19 year old Victorinox Small Tinker and for many years it was my only knife that I carried regularly. That knife has been used hard over and over and has taken it all. There is still no blade play, although it's earned a right to have some.

 I relied on folding knives for a couple of jobs that entailed pretty hard use. In fact I have used a couple of different models of "already broken" knives successfully as my only knife for over a year. Then again, I tend to be more practically minded to what someone can actually carry and use in the real world.

I used a Byrd Cara Cara Rescue for 18 or so months as my only knife at work and at home until I lost it overboard when I left it on top of a lobster trap and set the string of them back. Sal at Spyderco was kind enough to send me another one which I still carry and use frequently.

As long as you can carry it, a fixed blade is always better than a folding knife, that's why it would be crazy to chose a folder over a fixed blade if you could only have one knife. You could use a folding knife to cut stuff and it would probably never fail, but a fixed blade is just a better tool. I will take the better tool any day.

I really had to think a while about this, I have too many favorites. I always carry at least two and rotate my favorites, but the one I actually use the most is my HEST 2.0.

If I don't consider weight and clothing style throughout the seasons - it would be a one of my SMF's for sure - probably my SW Ti and Blade SMF CC in Black G10. It's big but light(ish), thin and locks up like a vault. I love this knife:

BM 707 Sequel has been one of my carry pieces for over a year.
I'm 3mos in on my small sebenza though and would be happy carrying it for the rest of the year.

So many options have been running through my mind over these last 5 pages, and I've decided to stay within my own collection.
Not once have I used a Spyderco and thought "This might not cut it", so that narrows my selection to the Sage 1, Millitary S30V, Endura FFG, and Para2 M390.
Today, I will go with my Blue Para2 in M390 because it's out of this world...but ask me again in a few months when I have my CF Millie in M390 and I may have another answer for you.

Fällkniven WM1. Small enought to use as an EDC and tough enough for almost everything else.
