Your Carrying Knife

Me too, but rather than an AFCK I carry a Gerber EZ-Out.

I carry a schrade old-timer middleman stockman. It gets used way more than my AFCK partially because I don't like pulling out my AFCK in public unless I really need to. People always stare at me and back away. I can't seem to figure out why...

Those small to medium sized stockman pocketknives are VERY popular "ordinary" pocketknives.

How many others out there carry them?

What about Barlows?

Do any of you still carry on a daily basis or more or less daily basis, the first knife you ever got?

I still have my first knife (a Sabre Brand utility) but don't carry it anymore.

Iwent to a little knife show today and saw some really nice knives including new and collectable older pocketknives.

I was suprised to see so many people who were looking for older pocketknives for carrying. One young man was looking for a yellow handled Case - not for collecting but to carry - the young man knew a good knife when he saw one.

I personally am looking for a junior sized 3 blade stockman with mother of pearl handles for carry when wearing a suit. I almost bought a 2000 model Case with a single clip blade and pair of scissors with mother of pearl handles. Nice knife and I would have bought it if it had had at least one more knife blade.

There was one display of real nice Scout knives. Very tempting.

Rick, you might want to check out my web site and plan on making it down to Austin for the Central Texas Knife Show. Lots of good makers and dealers from around the world and the U.S. Its a mixed show with old knives, new knives and handmades.

Thanks.

I was in a business meeting the other day and noticed that one of the ladies had a Gerber EZ Out clipped to her Daytimer. That was a first!

F-250: An Ontario Marine Raider Bowie, and a Cold Steel XL Voyager clip pt. in the seatcover pockets.

LandCruiser: A Cold Steel Vaquero Grande, and Ruana Drop pt. sticker in the center console, with a SwissChamp in the glove box.

My wife's Suburban: A pre-clip Sebenza in the center console which she stole from me.

I see you have a Cold Steel Voyager XL. I have the Large Tanto and like it. But was wondering if it is as strong as they claim it is. Cold Steel makes the claim that their knives are better than all others. I also carry the classic Buck 110 (a solid performer and easy to sharpen) and the Benchmade 4 inch ATS34 and it's also easy to sharpen. I had a bit of trouble trying to sharpen the Cold Steel Voyager. Have you tried it?
Eric.

SAK (Explorer, the glass and tweezers are just the thing for kids who climb splintery fences) and my BFC Spyderco Native. If I need a tool, either the Leatherman Crunch or the SwissTool.

I have or have had quite a few of the leading folders and a couple of straight blades too (i.e., Benchmade, Microtech, Chris Reeve (fixed), Ka-Bar, Spyderco, Boker, etc, etc).. Nevertheless I keep coming back to my SAK Spartan for all around everyday carry. It keeps a razor edge with a little maintenance, is innocuous, and has just the right tool selection (including the eyeglasses screwdriver). I travel a lot both internationally and domestically and this knife has never been questioned at an airport or a customs checkpoint. When I'm in the woods or around town on the weekends, I sometimes supplement it with something else, just because I like to play with my various toys.

EVERYDAY?.... I carry a Benchmade 9100SBT, or a Emerson Raven clipped to my right pocket. IN my left I carry a Sog gentlmens folder. And in my wallet I have a Swiss Card. I use the Benchmade the most.

I just spent a few days in a Boy Scout summer camp and must have seen over 100 carrying knives. Everything from "Chinese Army" knives to Official Boy Scout Knives and everything in between and beyond. The gem at such a camp is of course a Official Boy Scout utility knife. They are expensive so not lots of boys had them. But there were some. I saw many Swiss Army knives and "ordinary" pocketknives. I saw plenty of Leathermans and other utility tools. Some Gerbers, a few Kershaws, and others. A Boy Scout camp is always a haven for knives since they teach the proper use and care for knives and the boys have to use them in many of the classes and other activities at camp.
I personally carried an Official Boy Scout utility pocketknife made by Camillus and a Leatherman PST II. Both were used daily.

I always carry my Large Sebenza. Usually also carry a Swiss Tech Micro Tecnician and RJ Martin Kozuka. Sometimes work in a Black Cloud or Don Fogg, both of which I designed.

If I am running for any distance, I have a Spydie Delica.

In my Jeep I have a Gerber folder, SOG Paratool and Mad Dog ATAK.

Outdoors, I alternate between several : Pukko, Campanion, Hayes Kwaiken.........

At home.........just don't ever break in my house

BM 750 at all times.
Sometimes Wave.
Battle Mistress - looking for good reasons.

A knife is by default a tool, it's only a weapon when a human chooses to make it so.

I alternate between a Spyderco Delica and a Kershaw ricochet. Both are very neat knives.
Sometimes, I also carry a Leatherman Micra, 'cause the scissors inside are good for trimming my moustache.
On my nightstand is a Greco, which I carry with me to check out unusual noises in the house at night (doesn't happen very often, but......)

What the heck, once more for old times sake...

Today; Small Sebenza on right hip, Victorinox Spartan on keychain and Victorinox Moneyclip Knife in right front pocket, Blackwood Talonite Hunter on left hip, William Henry Cocobolo Lancet in left front pocket.

Come on folks, there are over 6,000 users here and less than 100 have told us about their carrying knives.

Maybe some of you picked up a new carry knife at the blade show.
