Your knife clipped to pocket ever fall out?

I've had Kershaw Leeks become "unclipped" when dropping my pants in the bathroom. And lost a s30v/smooth g-10 model (not sure when it was lost).

One of my sons lost a Emerson CQC-7 while at USMC School of Infantry, and then lost a Spyderco Mili D2 while leaving Kuwait for Iraq ( I suppose it came unclipped as he was hoisting up his gear for travel). After that he used a lanyard. He plans to leave his current EDC (Emerson CQC-10) home for his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. Plans to use an issued Benchmade.

My other son, has lost and found his BM Mini-Grip and Grips on multiple occasions. Several times it was found in the crack between the driver's seat and console. I suppose it was dislodged by his seatbelt.

I should add that Chris Reeve uses the flimsiest clips of all the knives I own. Great knives, lousy clips.

Have to agree w/ that. I bought the little filler for the space left by
removing the clip and bought one of the CRK leather belt pouches. Great
workmanship but won't fit horizontally on anything but the smallest
dress belt.

I had my EDC Timberline Vallotton clipped in my right pocket while I was at my local bank. I was depositing some checks then remembered I had some cash I needed to deposit as well. I checked all my pocket for the wad of $20s and finally found it. In the jumble of looking for the $20s, I must have knocked my knife loose causing it to come unclipped. Little did I know, there was a hole in my right pocket. Down my pantleg my knife fell, in plain view of everyone in the bank.

Normally no big deal, but I was at a bank. I don't know whether people didn't know what it was or if they just didn't care but no one said anything. Note to self: Fix pants.

Almost entirely unrelated to the thread, but I walked into my local bank with my rc3 stapped to my hip, still didn't get a comment!

On a more related note, the clip on my CRKT Suma got stuck on my seatbelt today, I thought for a second I was going to lose my pants. The clip didn't bend like they usually do, it just kept the seatbelt attached to my pants as I tried to get out.

Yes. I have had some knives fall out. As a matter of fact I had a Large Unique graphics Sebenza clipped to my pocket Christmas night. After my family left my wife and I started to clean up. i grabbed the trash from the kitchen to take outside then I felt something. I reached down to feel if my knife was there and it wasn't . I almost panicked. I then looked at the trash bag and noticed the bag caught my clip and stuck into the bag. When I lifted the bag up it pulled the knife from my pocket.

Wow, had almost the exact same thing happen to my CPM M4 Military. Was either Christmas, or Christmas Eve, too. Only it fell straight on the ground after the bag caught it and picked it up out of my pocket. Gave me a little scare, too, though it's not quite as expensive as yours, it's rare enough and expensive enough for me :D

Also had a few crappier knives with loose clips slip out before. Otherwise it seems good knives really need to get caught and yanked up to get them out.

Lost my first endura in 1995 while T was in college. It had one of those early plastic clip. We were deer hunting all day and I did not even know where to begin to look for it. I feel sure it got pushed out of my pocket crossing one of the many ditches. Only had it a few months and it was by far the most expensive knife I had ever purchased. (only if I could say that now) It was a hour ride home and I don't think I spoke a word to the two guys riding with me. After being pissed for a few days I decided to write a letter to spyderco. I included the usual college poor mouthing and explained how many times I had visited the store before I could actually buy it. Never once asked for anything. Just said that the clip was not strong enough and that when i got another one i hoped they had improved the clip. About three weeks later i got a box from spyderco with a brand new endura :) that had the plastic clip cut off, sanded, and replaced by a metal clip with 3 screws. Wonder if i can consider that a "sprint run". I still have that knife along with 3 other enduras. You have to stick with company after an experience like that.

Years ago I would clip knives to my back pocket, though they would occasionally clip themselves to car upholstery and fall out. I was cautious, but eventually the bad habit got the better of me, and I lost a Spyderco Lava in the snow.

Not once after that have I clipped a knife in my back pocket.

Hey - I heard ya the first time! :D

I was sitting down and had a knife clipped to my back pocket.

I scooted forward in the metal chair. My knife did not.

I noticed it as it happened, but it was a little unnerving.

Never ! I have had them catch on a seatbelt and chairs before bent the piss out of a sog clip on a chair I used to have it had to go. The chair and the sog;)

Ah yes, on a couple occasions. I had a Kabar K2 i got in a grab bag with a poor clip. Entering or leaving my house was quickest if I jumped over the railing on the porch. So as I would cross it every morning I'd run forward, put my hand on the railing, and jump over with my body horizontal. It fell out at least twice doing that. The last time I never found it, but I wasn't to worried about it, it being a cheap Tegu.

I've had no problem with my new Tenacious though, and I think I now have an addiction, so I hope this one doesn't fall out!

It sounds like you definitely have something - doesn't sound like addiction to me, though I'll take your word for it. :D

I lost a nice Kershaw Leek that was clipped in my front pocket. It was a jetboat ride down the rogue river, dinner, then back up the river. I got home and realized it was missing. Never did turn up.

It was a good excuse thought to buy a nicer new one (D2 composite blade) to replace it though.

I have lost at least two Benchmades that were clipped to my front pocket… I must be a slow learner… I should have stopped carrying that way after the first one came up missing.
Now I mostly remove the clips and carry in my pocket or in a pouch on my belt.

I lost a Kershaw while riding my Motorcycle, somehow came out of my front pocket on the way home from work:thumbdn: Now I consistently check my clips.....

Yes. I had a Gerber FAST draw. I know Gerber's aren't the best ever since they moved production to China, but this was a nice beater knife. I was working maintenance on a golf course, and at some point in the day it fell out somewhere on the course. Didn't notice until I went to cut some rope. Disclaimer though- a few months before this, the clip did get caught on a box i was walking past. I bent it back to place, but it never was as tight.

Twice with the same knife.
I cut a flap in the plastic used to mask off an area during an asbestos abatement job so I could access the bathroom on the other side. When I crawled through the hole the clip (Delica, back pocket) must have caught on the plastic. I didn't notice it gone the rest of the day since I had and used my Endura all day. I found it the next day clipped on the flap I cut.
The second time clipped in my back pocket again I lost it for good. That day I was pressure washing, loaded, delivered, and unloaded two trailers of steel beams. It could've fell out anywhere.
