Your knife clipped to pocket ever fall out?

Blimp mooring masts are set up like old fashioned circus tent poles, with guy lines anchoring them from the top of the pole to stakes in the ground. To stand on the crows nest, you have to slip your body through the cables, and if you are fat you have to wedge your body through. While doing this, my Benchmade Aries snagged on the cable and was launched from my pocket. The blade had flipped open, just missing the envelope of the blimp and nearly striking one of my co workers. I don't carry knives up the mast anymore, unless it is a multitool, and where it won't snag.

Sometimes i've had pocket clips snag on crocheted afgans while i was lying on the couch.

That's the only thing that comes to mind.

for me,in my experience....the kershaw leek has cost me more money in the past years than any other knife ever...the pocket clips are "OK" new but after brief use and carry they soon become weak and i will never trust another leek clip again....i slide them into my pocket now.if i had to guess id say Ive lost probably 4 leeks due to this. o well, thank God i discovered spyderco knives...my new obsession until one day i can afford a sebenza

Never lost one but many occassion they fell out of pocket or got snagged by seatbelt (driver is right side here). I carry the on right front pocket, jeans, clipped vertical nearest to the seam. Now I carry them clipped slanted IWB. This way, it'll never snag on anything, & I don't usually go horizontal (working in office environment).

I've had my Sypderco Native come close to running away from me. I kept it in the small zippo pocket in my jeans though.

As for my Surefire EW-04, it is such a deep carry and low profile that it would be extremely hard for it to wander off. The clip is ridiculously tight, most of the time it requires two hands to get it back in my pocket.

I had a Kershaw get pulled out of my pocket when I was putting on my laptop bag the strap somehow got in between the knife and my pocket and pulled it out, luckily, I realized it a couple minutes later and found it out under my truck. I swapped it out with another knife and haven't carried the Leek since that day.

Yup. S&W I was carrying in Arizona. I tried to retrace my steps but it was gone.
Thankfully, only a $25 knife..still hurts.

Yep, caught on a car seat and I didn't see it happening....... One of the major reasons I don't care for clips, although I do have quite a few modern knives with clips.

My zt 350 fell out of my pocket when I was golfing once somehow one of the pocket clip screws sheared off. Luckily I was on the green ( as I always am 😉) so it was easy to see once I realized it was gone and went back for it.

Yes. That is one of the reasons I do not use clips. Another is they create a hot spot/are uncomfortable when using the knife.

Lost (and later found) my Leatherman surge and a microtech that way. Microtech's clip got bent and fell out sitting down. Nowadays, I just let it ride loose in my pocket, haven't lost a knife since (and my pants last longer)

I've never had a clipped knife just fall out. I have had on a couple occasions a clip get hung up on something, a strap or article of clothing, and pull the knife out. I don't recall ever losing a knife because of it, however.

Snagged the clip of my Shenanigan on the corner of a couch, totally ruined the retention. It fell out later that day just from sitting down to get on my laptop at a coffee shop, luckily I realized it and found it a little later. Gotta fix the clip eventually though.

I had a sebenza 25 fall out of my pocket not to long ago. Earlier that day while I was using the knife I thought to myself dam that clip is a little weak, better tight it up when I get home. Well that wasn't soon enough, because when I went to leave work that day it wasn't in my pocket and nowhere to be found :-(

One of the reasons I like my strider knives, a good strong clip that doesn't catch on stuff.

Pro-tip- First thing I do when I get a new knife take the clip off and bend it to hold stronger.

Yup, I had a custom knife clipped to my right front pocket, and I was getting out of my truck, and it hit the ground. It caused $150 in damage to the knife, and the maker actually revamped the pocket clip.
