Chinese, of course, but very nice. Well worth the $15.

Maybe not "well" worth $15.
There was a crack along the middle of the back of the blade which at first I thought was a slip of the grinder or even a bit of compound.
I took off an eighth of an inch or so, and didn't get to the bottom of the crack. Pretty close, though. Maybe stamping the nail nick caused the split.

Of course the shield fell out and disappeared during the grinding.
I thought I wouldn't spend the 8 or more bucks to return a $15 knife.

Haven't bought a knife in a few months and today I get two. The GEC Stockyard Whittler I knew was coming in the mail, made a trade for it from a fellow BF member here - W&T is superb. What I didn't expect to own today was this 1973 Case 6292 Texas Jack. It's the usual story, had time to kill before a customer appointment and stopped at a small antique mall - never know what you will stumble across, appears never used with factory edges. Two extremely nice pocketknives in one day - a lucky day for sure! OH

Wow — congrats on a very good day! That Snakewood 29 is just fantastic! 😎👍🏻

Full size Kabar USMC fighting knife. Kabar also makes a "short" version of this knife which, at one time, was on my list of knives to acquire. Times change, needs change, and I never picked one up. Hadn't thought about it in years, then this full size one came along at a very good price and here it is 😛
I have no idea what I'm going to do with it  I was never a Marine, I'm certainly not going to fight with it, I don't hunt, and I think my camping days are mostly done. I'm sure none of y'all ever bought a knife you had no use for ;)
Its a big old hunk of leather handled, 1095 bladed knife 😃

If I needed to have a use for every edged object I owned, I couldn't have any daggers or swords. And not having daggers or swords would be a tragedy. I mean, my wife would probably be happy about it, but I would miss my implements of destruction.
