Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I've wished for a Pilot Survival Knife since 1968, when I first spotted one strapped to the flight suit of the USAF pilot climbing into the cockpit of the F-106 Delta Dart Interceptor I was Crew Chief on ("My Bird" as it was known at the time).

I still don't have one, but I did find this Camillus 1010 Astronaut-Jet Space Knife while investigating garage sales recently. It is the civilian version of the Pilot Survival Knife, and at one time was highly polished. Some say they are chromed, but I'm not sure on that point yet. It is dated 11-1968, shortly after I was assigned Crew Chief status.

The lady didn't have any knives out at the time I asked, but the next day, she had a small box for me to look at. We met on what I still consider a fair price for both of us, and it came home with me, along with two other knives, and what looks to be an original equipment sharpening stone included. I plan to have the sheath re-riveted by my local leather shop someday. Nice knife, used but not abused.

Another recent Kabar from Widow Linda…

Although this 1152 Camp Knife may never dangle from my belt due to a broken bail, and I will never be able to open a can of Beanee-Weenees without the aid of pliers, at least it cleaned up pretty well. The backspring on the can opener is made like a leafspring of a Freightliner. I might add as well that one must be quite serious about things when opening the screwdriver/cap lifter and the awl. However, the spear-point blade functions quite well, even though it does rub against the awl when closed.

Oh well… it’s still a USA made Kabar. I’m just not quite sure what time period it may have been made. But I should be able to whittle a marshmallow toasting stick if I desire. What more can I ask of a gifted knife?

A trip to the local pond, a weed-filled fire pit, and visions of life in the wild... Life could actually be worse.

Evan esnyx esnyx dropped this little beauty off on the eve of Blade Show! 😍

I am absolutely thrilled with it! This is the Stingray pattern featuring a CPM-20CV blade, emerald green Micarta, Westinghouse ivory paper shield, and jeweled liners. Fit and finish is immaculate. Walk and talk is perfection.

Very nice! I recently grabbed a Workhorse from Evan and it’s so good I am already planning my next one. He is an exceptionally talented maker.

As I stated in previous posts, I had no plans to purchase the Case baby doc. However I recieved one as a Fathers day gift from my son. It is a much appreciated gift, so I have been carryIng it a few days now and I must say I really like the spear point blade. I didnt know what use I would have for the spatula blade, but I have found it can be used as a screw driver, and maybe some really light prying. I will have to be careful not to push it too far.

View attachment 2909008I just received this from charlie waynorth waynorth and charlie being an astute observer of all things concerning canadian moose was quick to notice Manitoba had 57% decline in moose populations, this in just the last decade so he is trying to do his part of replenishing the population here.
Robert, that is a nice specimen of moose. 👍🏻
A very kind gesture by Charlie, befitting his character.

Very sad to here the fate of moose in the north.
