Nothing wrong with your eyes. Its hard to see and I hadn't noticed. I got a magnifying glass out and yes it looks like the lightning bolt S. I checked my one other Case Damascus from last year - a mini trapper - and it has the normal S. Both came in boxes with a large "carbon steel" on them. I don't know if Case mislabeled the box or if they're playing fast and loose with the tang stamp. I went to the Case website and I couldn't find any damascus knives at all.
