Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Brett, near as I can tell, Queen used white or natural carved stag bone starting in 2003-4, then the bird's eye maple (BEM) in '06, next the amber carved stag bone in '08 and finally the curly zebrawood starting in 2011.

Very pretty knife, Jeff. I'm really glad to hear that the knife functions as well as it looks.

This is my first post on the forum. I picked this up today from my local Case outlet store. I've lived here for 7 years and never been tempted before but this could be addictive.

They are definitely addictive! I have been so close to pulling the trigger on this exact knife for about 3 months now.

Nice looking Case knife you got there, duderubble! I'm a fan of the Case Amber Bone handles myself, when they are done right. I have a fair number of them in both the CV and SS steels. It looks like you got a very nice specimen there, bone-wise. Good size and carries easy with the rounded bolsters. Grats on a nice purchase!

Started to say I have this same one, then looked at mine again and realized mine has a spey blade instead of the sheepsfoot

Sorry I made a reply to this thread, I was wanting to start a new thread. It was about the mora fixed blade.

I've never seen a knife quite like this! I like it. Thanks for sharing the open photo.

My first Stockman arrived today, a Case Medium cigar Stockman in dark red bone with deep canyon jigging:

The style of jigging necessitates wide bone at the center of the knife, which gives it some nice girth for such a light knife (just 2 oz.). I'm a fan of interesting bolsters, so I like that it has an engraved bolster.

I received both of my 63090SS Cigars yesterday. Yes, the bone on the 37886 Deep Canyon Red is right at twice as thick in the middle as my 6692X PW Old Red. Very glad I got both. The only other thing was I really didn't look at their length being 3 3/8" instead of 3 5/8" like my 18's. But they are the same length as my 2 087's that I have. As they say "Variety is the Spice of Life". Enjoy. Don

That's a useful stat to hear, about the thickness. Pictures would be lovely, if you're so inclined!

I'm already considering adding one of these in smooth bone, the thinnest option, to my collection. It's such a pocketable shape, and sunk joints are the icing on the cake. I'm uncertain that Case makes them in smooth bone, though.

Bought from Matti Koski while I was visiting the Kauhava Puukko Festival.

Pocket Puukko in Reindeer antler and Curly Birch, almost exactly the same size as a GEC 25 when open. Really exquisite mini puukko that is made for pocket carry. Naturally there were a lot of fine puukkot on view from other sellers, some in Damascus, many quite expensive up to 400 Euro . Whilst I can admire the artisan skill and beauty, the Puukko remains for me an essentially outdoorsman's knife, simple rugged and highly effective. Maybe why I've always stuck to cheaper more functional ones?

Oh, it's hellish sharp too:D:D

Wow! A Puukko Festival? I'm jealous. I'd love to go to one of those. You only came home with one new knife? It's a beauty, for sure.

I've waited a long time to find a Queen #9 in their bird's eye maple that had the kind of color and figure I like, and finally succeeded.
...
Congrats on a successful conclusion to your long search, Jeff; the maple covers on your Queen look fantastic!!:thumbup:

Welcome to the traditional subforum, duderubble! :) VERY nice Case you picked up!:cool: A lot of the Case amber bone seems too light for my taste, but yours has lots of the rich "amber" color!

Will, I don't think of myself as someone who pays much attention to fixed blades, but that little guy certainly caught my eye!;) That's an absolutely stunning knife!!:thumbup: Do you think it's something an amateur could use for whittling, or is putting that knife in the hands of an inexperienced whittler just begging for trouble??

These today....

Winchester 2913 1/2 1988 Texas Jack/Moose & Winchester Large Trapper 29103 1/2 1992

...
Another couple of splendid Winchesters, SAK Guy; congrats!!:thumbup::D Is the large trapper part of the Black Box series? The rifle shield and the reddish tint to the bone aren't typical of the few Black Box knives I've seen, but I really have no idea how much variety is included in that series.

Thank you! No they are of the next USA Winchester series. White box with the Winchester rider. Same quality as near I can tell. This jumbo trapper is tight, well made with strong springs and at 4 1/2 closed, the size of a GEC 23. I think the bone is described as Burnt Orange bone.
