All I know about it comes from the info on the back of its box:

I can attest that its combination of classic and fashion generated a whole pile of fascination and enthusiasm from me! :D
Good cutter!

OH!

Congratulations, Robin.

Lyle, you're a wonder. :)

Robin They've gone where they're appreciated (karma thing! :)) Lyle is not just the leading light in this genre of knives but he's a font of knowledge and kind enthusiasm.

That stag is like burnished Amber and the Peachseed so tight.

You won't be needing further knives right????:D:D

Thanks, Will

Thanks Will, I feel like I have found the path :D I Think I'll need more.

The Wostenholm stag is like a piece of majic. I Love used knives that have worked for a living. This handle shows years of handling, like the patina on a 300 year old table top.

Thanks again

Best regards

...
Congrats, Robin; both handles are unbelievable!:thumbup:
Very thoughtful, generous action, Lyle!:cool:

Thanks! :) After seeing your photo, I remember seeing that before, Rachel. The blades on your and my knives are virtually identical, but you must have the "upscale model" with fancy handle covers! Why do you call it "tactical"?

I call it tactical as a joke, because of the fuller/blood groove. And because after I picked it up at a flea market, I googled the brand, just for fun, and read a description of this model:
RIMEI Stainless Steel Foldable Tactical Survival Knife :D

Oh, that's a fuller! I thought it was the world's strangest double-sided nail nick, or just a "target" for placing fingers for pinching the blade open; I've got a lot to learn. But if you read it in black and white that the knife is "Tactical", well, that clinches it for me! :D:D Thanks for the illuminating reply.

Robin: those are two exceptional knives from an exceptional man. Congratulations! Both are stunning examples of the cutler's art.

I had the good fortune of meeting Lyle in person at last year's Rendezvous. He had his collection of Farmer Jacks and was very generous with his time, with letting me handle them, and with sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm.

I'm glad to see those two knives are safely in your care now.

This week brought me two new members of the family:

Very nice compliment/contrast not just of colour but texture and materials on those two fine knives, well done!

Must say what with you in Germany and jolipapa in France getting your Beer Scouts well before me in Scandiland I feel I'm losing my touch as the European Early Bird!:D No matter, it's a tonic to see so many others in the EU getting their share of overseas cutlery - even though the Euro/Dollar exchange rate is so miserable for us these days.:(

Regards, Will

I have to confess that I cheated a little ... had a friend of mine bring it over on a business trip to Germany. ;)

Aha! That explains it :D:D Mind you, July is holiday month here (and the coldest wettest for 50 years :(:barf:) and the Post Office is short staffed so that might have an impact. The black Vic is a very fine looker too.

Thanks, Will

Thanks! The Vic is rather a very dark blue, might not come over that well in the photo. But I'm really looking forward to carrying both knives!
Still, I had a very hard time to decide on only one version of the Beer Scout; there are so many great ones ... I'm still considering the orange bone one. But as KSF have horrific shipping prices to Europe I have to figure out how to do this. Anyways, first world problems. ;)
