Perfect knife for me.
It's what I always thought of when I heard the term "jackknife."

I actually ordered this knife almost a month ago, but the dealer took 10 days to ship it, by which time I had left town for a 2-week vacation. So I finally picked it up last Monday and didn't get photos until late this afternoon. But as far as I'm concerned, it was well worth the wait!! :p A NOS Rough Rider stag canoe; just the 2nd stag-handled knife I've ever owned (or even touched, I think :confused:). IMHO, an absolute dream knife!

First up is a Roger's pearl whittler, marked Cutlers to His Majesty, so I'm guessing this is a later one. The pearl is checked on the front, but not cracked all the way through. The blades are still pretty full; I love how thin they ground the edges on these things. I couldn't resist the little 2 blade Hammer Brand, made by New York Knife Co. I just love the swedges and grinds on this one, the nice old jigged bone, and the way the blades fit perfectly together in the frame. If ya hold it in the light just right, you can still make out the Hammer Brand etch on the master blade. The Art Nouveau match safe is sterling silver, and rides along on dressy occasions.

I picked up the Mandarin marked straight razor in an antique shop a while back, since I liked the way the grind sweeps into the tang. Got 'er honed up, and have shaved with it. I got the other one at the recent Belleville Knife expo. It's been a while since I've seen a razor in this nice of condition for only $20. The plum and blue on the tang is still bright, with gold filled stamping, and the blade is nearly flawless. Still have to sharpen it up.

I don't think there's ever been a knife company that could match the quality of NYK Company. Very nice.

I found the colonial scout knife at an antique mall today, and the ancient barlow was a big surprise find at Blue Creek Cutlery's table at the Central Kentucky Knife Club show yesterday. I can't believe it was still there on the second day of the show! Primble must not have gone to the show.

Wow there have been some beautiful pieces lately

Mark beautiful pairing, I really like that scout knife and a second ancient? Hot dog nice score :D :D

I like that canoe GT, one definitely worth waiting for!
