Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Hey now that is cool! It reminds me of a pinball machine.
Belated thanks, b&hd! :) It is sort of pinballish in it's art, and right in the middle of the handle is a little rectangle with 3 little silver balls and 3 holes. It's supposed to be a game in which you tilt the knife around until you get a ball in each hole. How's that for pinball?? :D

Got in the Remington UMC R4, just needed some oiling to get it's snap back. From another thread, Camillus made. It will be my SAK farmer alternative.

...
Congrats, Steve, on your Remington!:thumbup: Now I'll have at least two I can admire/envy ; I've been enjoying pics of Buzzbait's for a long time!

My latest and greatest addition was a gift from Ken (a.k.a. Itsasportsbar) for which he went above and beyond in sending to me after I expressed appreciation so long ago over his example. ...

Once again our little porch blows me away with the generosity and sheer friendliness of the members. Thank you, Ken! This beautiful Case and the awesome little SAK will both be treasured by me. The bartender's knife is in my LFP awaiting the opening of a nice bottle of red wine, while the SAK is already riding on my keyring and coming in useful.

Congrats on those great gifts from Ken, TB! If you saw the thread I started last night, you'll know I wasn't at all surprised to read your post! ;)
Kudos to Ken for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity that I suspect many have experienced!

A couple of my other new acquisitions.

Case 6143 large Barlow in "pocket worn" harvest orange jigged bone

Case NKCA "Museum 50" Sunfish in Appaloosa bone

Japanese fruit knife marked "SEB 33P" -- ostensibly Sabre -- in faux MOP

Congrats on your new arrivals, Tsar! That pocket worn daddy barlow is gorgeous (and if it's like the harvest orange pocket worn humpback stockman that Crazy Canuck gifted me, the feel in hand is probably slightly illegal :D)! Actually all 3 above were real standouts IMHO!

My EDC/store/parts GEC #74 Mustang (440C stainless with orange Delrin covers) came in the mail today. It's my first S knife from GEC, and I'm glad they offer these -- it's a solid knife.

Congrats, Dadpool; that Mustang is bright and beautiful!

I just acquired this large Robeson Serpentine Trapper from the big auction site. Got it for what I think was a good price. It is a Robeson Shuredge USA (822482) on tang and Pocket Eze on the shield. 4.5 inches long. It is in very good condition with some discoloration and minor corrosion and some very small areas of pitting. Has been sharpened but looks to have 95 or so percent of blades rewmaining with good function and WT from both blades. Lloyd

Congrats, Lloyd! That big old PocketEze looks superb!

CollectorKnives had a recent Crown Lifter Give Away on Instagram, and I won! This week I received a beautiful rust red jigged bone Crown Lifter (155214):

Many thanks to Mike Latham for giving away this awesome knife.
Outstanding knife, Duvel!! GEC's rust red is super-attractive!:thumbup: Accolades to Mike for his generosity!

The mailman brought me a USA Buck.

Lookin' good, deltaboy! Buck 301, right? One of these days I'll run into one of those classic stockmen at a yard sale! ;)

My latest and greatest addition was a gift from Ken (a.k.a. Itsasportsbar) for which he went above and beyond in sending to me after I expressed appreciation so long ago over his example. The Case bartender's knife (and my first Case gunstock to boot!). Ken, it's even prettier in person! To my surprise and delight, he also included my very first alox SAK in the parcel, and an 1864 penny coin from Nova Scotia. I didn't have a chance to take any "opening" photos because I was too excited about the package to wait, so I went to pick it up in the morning before work and couldn't wait until afterwards to open it. :o

That's a great-looking Case! I've never seen that pattern before. I'm not normally into bright blue/green for covers, but they look just right on that knife, as does the lovely arrowhead shield.

I've been hunting for a traditional with a single blade and a caplifter, in stainless, and I finally found one:

The Victorinox Bantam! :D

At 3.25" and 1.1 oz., it's light but offers plenty of handle length. I also like that this 2003 version has black covers and no keyring.

But it's got an issue I've never seen in a SAK before: There's a sort ramp at the caplifter end, in the knife blade's well, and when it closes a portion of the tip impacts that piece of metal. I don't have the tools or skills to build up the kick with solder, so I may try gluing a bit of something under it instead. It's possible sharpening it out would also work, but I worry that there's so little kick that the blade would need to be ground down quite a bit to make it work. It's a conundrum!

If I'm understanding you: you want to raise the knife tip a tiny bit? What I often do is cut a tiny, thin strip of leather or balsa wood (match sticks can work) and wedge it in place under the kick. It's temporary, and you will need to replace it from time to time depending on how often your knife gets dirty/washed. The advantage is it's temporary and adjustable.

I really wish I wouldn't have seen this. The "have to have one" is hitting me hard! Beautiful knife.

Yes a Callimus made Buck 301. I grabbed this one off the bay for 20 bucks.

Thank you! Yes, that's the sort of shimming I was thinking of. Having never tried it before, I wouldn't have considered thin, flexible materials; you sent me in a good direction. :)

The acrylic on that #26 looks good, Jeff. I would have figured that pattern is a bit on the small side for you.

I took a drive over to Grand Prairie today and came home with some nifebrite goodness. I've wanted one of these since they first came out, just never pulled the trigger until now.

Japanese kogatana marking/whittling knife. It's dual grind what surprised me but I am okay with that as I have chisel one too. I instantly made pouch for it. These are unbeatable in little craft projects!

Kind of glad I'm retired now or else I'd be at Grand Prairie every time I'd be down to Rose Lake Yard to work there. :o

Fortunately for my bank account, I don't get over there too often even though it's only about a half hour drive. Their business hours coincide with my work schedule so unless I get off early and want to deal with the traffic, it's not easy to find time. Even then it would be close to their closing time and I don't want to rush myself when there's so many knives to look at.

Good morning...
Just got this beauty from the mailbox, I know it´s not an antique or vintage folder, but sure is a traditional one. From Finland, the Marttiini Taittoveitsi MBL..

You're right, Dan, I may never even carry it, but I still like the knife, and especially the acrylic.

At the risk of spamming this picture across the forum: I just can't get over how great this knife looks and how awesome Mike (Crazy Canuck) is for hosting such a generous GAW. Case Ivy Baby Butterbean.

Looking good Shawn!

Surprise convergence in the mailbox this afternoon. GEC 74 in burnt orange, and a pair from A. Wright & Son - a dual bolster Lambfoot and an Ettrick. Happy surprises are the best surprises :)

I picked up this #26 in blue denim acrylic not too long ago.

Most acrylic doesn't do much for me, but every now and then I'll see an acrylic knife cover that just floors me. Jeff, your 26 with the lightning bolt blue denim acrylic is an example of the latter!! Wow!!:eek::cool::thumbup:

I've decided that I'm really not a GEC kind of guy, but those 2-bladed Hay'n Helpers are something that I'd seriously consider purchasing! Congrats, dannyp ; the nifebrite looks like it would be kind of fun too (although I don't know if my wife would let me keep one on the bedside table each night, where it obviously belongs)!

Congrats on winning that fabulous little canoe in Mike's "supplemental drawing", Shawn! I also recently acquired a greenish canoe, shown below.

Congrats on the triple play, Mike! You're getting seriously British with all your recent A Wright & Son offerings. ;) Those 74s are attractive knives; how would you compare them to 73s?

Here's a Rough Rider canoe that I ordered over a month ago, but had to send back because the first one they sent to me had a bright green mark side but an undyed putrid brown pile side. (Great service from the dealer though.)
