I wasn't sure how I'd like this knife, because acrylic really isn't my favorite cover material, but I have to say I like it a lot. It's jewel-like and pleasing to the eye, and the knife is really svelte. This is a perfect summer knife. Totally unobtrusive in shorts, and you can get it wet (sweat, spray from washing the car, seawater at the beach, whatever) and not have to fret about any damage coming to the blade or other parts of the knife from a dunking. It might not be my choice every single day, but it's darn nice to have the option of one that can take some abuse. The clip blade is beautifully proportioned, and a very nice choice for a single-blade knife, too.
Congrats on that superb knife, GJ; the tortoise shell covers are quite fetching! I've been trying to decide on a knife to give to my daughter who has been my Spanish knife "broker", and I think the pattern of her choice in tortoise shell might be the way to go, since she's sporting tortoise shell sunglasses frequently this summer.
Today, I got this Northwoods Norfolk in the mail (bought from the exchange). A long-time desire finally fulfilled.
Belated congrats on the pretty "pastel" Norfolk, Dean! Is that pattern considered a half-congress or a half-whittler or does the swell center make it a pattern of its own?
That's it, I'm done! This could be my last new traditional for some time. I just got this from LastRodeo and it is so choice. I've found my pattern and this to me is apex of production half congresses. It's the right size, handle shape, blade shapes and it's so beautiful. I present to you my new GEC #62, number 25 of 25.
...
I wonder, are the liners are stainless or nickel silver? I've never seen this on a GEC before.
I'm impressed by your enthusiasm, Doctor, but aren't your first words usually "famous last words"??

Congratulations on a gorgeous knife!
These two arrived in yesterday's mail:thumbup:
1976 CASE red bone #6207 small trapper with Pen and a #77 Sawcut red bone Barlow:thumbup:

...
Congrats on a couple of captivating crimson knives, Paul! The old Case red bone is magical, and I really like the clip/pen combination as an alternative to the almost equal-sized clip/spey that's so common for mini trappers.
Hurrah for today! Too much sun streaming in for a proper pic but
enthusiasm is what counts...
14 & 15 arrived this morning. The 15 feels very much more meaningful though....just my view of course.
Your enthusiasm is infectious, Will! I admire your pair of splendid scarlet-shaded slicers, too!
I've posted these knives elsewhere, but they ARE my newest additions, so I'll post them here too. They all arrived from Spain with my daughter when she came to visit. The first 3 she ordered for me from a Spanish website, and the fourth is a gift she got for me from a knife-maker in Toledo, Spain.
