Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Congrats on the triple play, Mike! You're getting seriously British with all your recent A Wright & Son offerings. ;) Those 74s are attractive knives; how would you compare them to 73s?

Here's a Rough Rider canoe that I ordered over a month ago, but had to send back because the first one they sent to me had a bright green mark side but an undyed putrid brown pile side. (Great service from the dealer though.)

Thank you, GT. You appear to be growing your canoe collection nicely as well :)

Here's a few shots comparing the 74 to it's brother Northwoods Esky Zulu, and cousin 73. They're pretty close in length, which is a very good thing. The 74 and Esky are just a tad longer, as the bolster extends past the tang.

One thing I don't like about the 73 has been addressed in the 74... The flush tang with the bolster is gone. I don't know why, but I never liked it. I should like it, as less gunk can get stuck in the pivot, but I like that little bit of space the extra height on the bolster provides on the Esky and 74.

The nail nick on the 74 isn't as deep as on the 73, but the pull is much lighter. Say a 5ish to the 73's 8.

Both my 73 and 74 are in bone. The deep jigging on the 74 is really neat. It provides lots of grip, without being too aggressive, like my 73 is sometimes. Overall, pretty happy with it. I'm also a sucker for a nice drop point :)

Harry Got exactly the same 14 en route, but it will be quite a long wait so I appreciate your photo. By the looks of it, I made the right choice :D Just hope it isn't too toy-like, the Coyote disappointed me on that front despite its superlative build-quality.:(

Regards, Will

I picked up this #26 in blue denim acrylic not too long ago.

Very nice! My 26 in cocobola is one of my most carried knives, and its always fun to get an acrylic knife, they are never my first choice but I am always pleasantly surprised by how much I like them when I get them!

It is a very well made knife , but it is not the size for me . Nor is it a Northfield . I bought it to be a Christmas gift for one of my daughters . I am sure that you will be very pleased with yours when you finally get it Will.
My Coyotes basically reside in one of my display cases . They are also too small for work or to carry except for dress up . I still like them very much and I could get one in Stag and they are Northfield. I can not collect everything , so I only collect Northfield as a rule .

Received the Compact SAK Friday and the copper scales today! (Receive the Prometheus about a week ago and the Zippo about 3 weeks ago.)

I've been away for several days, so I haven't kept up with threads the way that I should.
Mike, thanks for the excellent comparisons, both verbal and visual, of the GEC 73s and 74s and Esky Zulu. Very helpful info!:thumbup:

I wasn't sure how I'd like this knife, because acrylic really isn't my favorite cover material, but I have to say I like it a lot. It's jewel-like and pleasing to the eye, and the knife is really svelte. This is a perfect summer knife. Totally unobtrusive in shorts, and you can get it wet (sweat, spray from washing the car, seawater at the beach, whatever) and not have to fret about any damage coming to the blade or other parts of the knife from a dunking. It might not be my choice every single day, but it's darn nice to have the option of one that can take some abuse. The clip blade is beautifully proportioned, and a very nice choice for a single-blade knife, too.

Just got this Moki Calliope in today. Black Micarta with a Mother of Pearl inlay and VG10 blade steel. Nicely constructed knife.

Sorry for the blurry pics. Couldn't seem to hold the camera still.

Jeff Great change to that Schatt, fine shield on the pattern too.

Rick Once again Moki demonstrates superb build-quality. Like my Moki lockback, the join between tang and spring hardly discernable, seamless. Frankly, can put some customs to shame.

Thanks, Will

Today, I got this Northwoods Norfolk in the mail (bought from the exchange). A long-time desire finally fulfilled.

That's it, I'm done! This could be my last new traditional for some time. I just got this from LastRodeo and it is so choice. I've found my pattern and this to me is apex of production half congresses. It's the right size, handle shape, blade shapes and it's so beautiful. I present to you my new GEC #62, number 25 of 25.

I wonder, are the liners are stainless or nickel silver? I've never seen this on a GEC before.

That is a sweet looking knife there, Doc! Looks like you've acquired your grail knife. Congrats!

What is the small blade?

I've never known GEC to use stainless steel liners but I'm no expert. I'm guessing nickel silver.
