Great yard sale find for me, I forked out 5 bucks for the stockman. What's cool its strawberry bone like my RR soddie. I "customized" it by rounding the edges of the covers with my dremel. Followed by 400,600,1200 grit Emory paper. Rounded and blended the bolsters a bit to, kinda my own "pocket worn" treatment. Also took the 600 and 1200 to the blades and knocked the mirror polish off.

I like those RR strawberry bone knives. Been looking at their Congress in it...need to go ahead and pull the trigger.

Found this Friday at my local knife shop. They are a pretty modern heavy shop but are also a Case master dealer that usually have a nice selection. They moved locations last year and I had not visited them since.

I was shocked to see they had three GEC knives in stag under the glass. Prices weren't much over retail too. They had a single blade 48
, a 66 stockman, and I can't remember the third. Guy at the counter told me they had a hell of a time getting any knives from GEC.

Anyways, found this nice swayback gent, they let me dig through 4 boxes to find this one with nicely matched covers. I overpaid compared to what I could find it for online but being able to handle it in person prior to purchase was a real treat.

J JustinR I really like it myself, although looking at smokey mountain knife works RR selections, They have a color I'm not sure if its new or not called "black cherry" that look really nice. I agree with the being able to handle the knife b4 buying is a real plus. Great looking case you picked up

Just picked these 2 up today at the big Flea Market in Elkhart , Wi.. An Easy Open probably Camillus and a Camp Type Knife made by Uster with still some very faint marking of Chraftsman on the blade . The Easy Open needs some thorough cleaning up to really determine the name on the tang but the Ulster has probably never had the blade ever re-sharpened and it is still sharp. Prices were extremely reasonable .
