Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

@Pàdruig Massive thanks to Dylan for this excellent 56 single in Smooth Appaloosa. I think there's a Mammoth aspect to it actually. We did a trade and I hope my end of the deal arrives soon.:thumbsup:

I've been on a trip but can't wait to get home and post a couple of new knives I picked up...

This T.B. 6339 SS 2001 manufactured Case SS Sowbelly with Barb Wire bone covers came in yesterday's afternoon mail. I gave it a good going over and there are no cracks, chips, gaps, drips, runs, or errors. There is virtually no underblading and the joints are almost completely sunken. The fit and finish is excellent. I particularly like the Barb Wire pattern on the covers. 2001 was the first year Case produced the Sowbelly.

Interestingly, the nail nick for the clip blade is on the mark side of the blade while the nail nick for both the sheepfoot blade and the spey blade are on the pile side of the blades. Later production Case sowbelly knives have the nail nicks for the clip blade and sheepfoot blade on the mark side of the blades and the nail nick on the pile side of the spey blade.

Another beauty, ED, I dig the barb wire covers, also. It is strange that they shift the sheepfoot nick from mark to pile, and maybe even back and forth more than once. I have had a 2001 and a 2003, and both had the sheepfoot nick on the pile side. It would be interesting for anyone here that has a TB6339 sowbelly to state the year made and which side the sheepfoot nick is on.

Jeff, I'm not sure if this helps because it's fairly recent production but here's one from 2014.

I took a trip down to Disneyland with my Wife and Boys. On the way back we stopped in a little Danish town called Solvang. I was surprised when my boys told me they found a cool knife shop, so we went to check it out. Found this beautiful GEC #76 there just waiting for me to buy it and bring it home. I've been looking for a #76, so I was beyond excited to see it there in this little knife shop. It has Rootbeer Float acrylic covers. The picture doesn't do them justice, there are gold flecks that just "pop" in the light.

Nice knife - and cool story! :thumbsup::D

Not many made back in 2012...only 25 serialized, and 24 non-serialized.

Nothing fancy...bought a SAK Tinker and Classic SD yesterday. My first SAKs :)

I've also found six old Barlows at my parents place which I've been cleaning out for the last year. I'm going to have to do something so I can post pics, but for now they are:

Case XX with lots of main blade wear. Its basically a recurve now;
Camillus made Remington with green Delrin scales. Not in too bad shape. Main blade may have been sharpened with a file at some point. Small blade looks unused;
Imperial made in USA between 1956 and 1988. Not in bad shape at all except the tip of the small blade is broken off;
Camillus made Camco. Lots of main blade wear, tips broken off both blades, tar or something on the main blade. I think this one is beyond salvage;
USA made Kutmaster. Tip off the main blade and blade kind of chewed up. Pretty rough.
American Knife Co made in Japan (?!). In decent useable condition although the very tip of the main blade has a very slight bend in it. I haven't been able to find out anything about this knife. Internet searches for American Knife Co brings up company making fixed blades.

All the Barlows, except the Remington have seen lots of hard use. They belonged to my Dad and maybe a couple to my Grandpa. I know the Case and Remington were my Dad's. The Remington he got after he retired so I know it didn't get used too hard. Dad got dementia at the end and I think he forgot how to sharpen his knives before I decided he shouldn't have one anymore. Not sure what he did to the Remington. Might have been an electric sharpener of some kind if not a file. The blade is salvageable, but it won't ever be pretty. It is sharp however so he got that part right :D

I know... It was a busy knife week. I'm sure my wife is thrilled that I added three new knives to my collection. Lol
First the Dom, then the #76, and now this beautiful #48 in stainless. Thanks to @johnny twoshoes for this great knife.
I really like the #48, it's just so slim and classy looking. They are my favorites for a opening letters and a slicing cheese.

I went for just about 30 years almost exclusively carrying just a Tinker and having a Classic on my key ring. I had an Old Timer 340T that was carried a lot too but the Tinker will serve you well. It wasn’t till I joined this forum that I started to accumulate all the knives I have now.

Thursday’s mail brought me my long awaited new Ancient TC! It’s well worth the wait! :)

You've been giving that one a hard time Ron!:(o_O I'd go as far as to use the word abuse!
High time you learned how to look after your knives decently, I mean there's young types looking in here and this is a shameful example for them:eek::thumbsdown:

Fact is, you best send it to me and I'll give it a decent cremation and we can all forget about this regrettable episode...:D:D:D:thumbsup:

:cool:

Thanks, Will
