Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

That is a really great looking knife... me likeum..... :) I assume it's stainless? I tend to lean toward the CV, when I can find it...
Thank you. It is stainless. I don't find a huge difference between the Case SS and CV, and I have knives in both. But, I spend a lot of time outdoors and in the woods for both work and play. With the temps and dew points we have for 6 moths of the year I'll have brown rust on a CV knife up in about 30 minutes. You should see what bolsters look like after a day in the field with me ha! So, that's the driver for me choosing stainless a lot of times.

I know, but I just had to have it.

Very well done - fit/finish, even grind, sharp and well - Hopalong Cassidy...

p.s. that's my gut reflected in the bottom bolster

The wife and I went to dinner last night and on the way, we stopped at our road-side mailbox only to discover a wee, white, box from JohnDF JohnDF . All through dinner, I was wondering just what could be in that wee, white, box. It turns out that it was a 2007 GEC Northfield #73 Ebony Scout Trappr Serial # 09 SFO for Cumberland Knife Works (CKW) who I believe was an original distributor for GEC. As shown in the pictures, the knife is beautifully etched and when the tube was opened it was discovered that the knife was accompanied by an Eisenhower Silver Dollar.

This was a selfless and totally unexpected gift from John. A first rate knife that anyone would be proud to own and have in their collection. Thanks John.
How cool is that? Very, very nice.....

And there probably isn't a huge difference in the edge retention between the two... most differences are likely imagination.. I just hate to admit it...

As far as I know there is no widely excepted definition of what makes a traditional knife a traditional knife. So, I guess you’re able to call it whatever you will.

You are very welcome, my friend.
Wow, that is nice. The knife and the act.
Got these last night. Had the one on preorder, the other I had missed out on because on procrastination, indecisiveness and not having the money when the urge to buy struck, it was on the auction site for probably less than retail, I like it.

Received this today. First impression -- it is a slipjoint alright, and an interesting one at that. Double-side long pulls, titanium bolsters, and what looks to be phosphor bronze washers.

The thing is...it isn't a traditional knife. o_O

You'll find it cuts like a Traditional knife alright ;) It lacks the weight, and brass....of many Traditionals and that's no bad thing:D

When I first got into GEC knives, I bought a #66 Jack. Not realizing how hard they would be to come by again, I let it go. For over a year now I've been looking to add one back into my collection with no luck. But now, thanks to @LastRodeo , I am the proud owner of an awesome #66 Jack in Purple Sage Jig Bone.:thumbsup:

This one aint going nowhere. :D
