Zero Tolerance Liner Lock Closures?

Yes I meant which fixed blade thanks!
Like the slim look of it! I'll have to check it out

I agree, I constantly carry ZTs and one is a duty carry. Zero lock failures or concerns, but I know the limitations of a folder and when to use my fixed blades for a task.
Unfortunately can't pocket carry fixed blades here in Canada
I understand the legality issue, this was my solution to folder doubts. It may or may not be feasible for other people.

I also have a demko ad15, when (for whatever reason) I want my folder for tasks I think may compromise my framelock and a fixed blade is out of the question ( legalities, social acceptance etc) I carry the demko.

Different knives with different purposes all with limitations it's a matter of matching the knife to the proper use and knowing Its limit.

You can if they're not concealed or intended to be used as a weapon.
Would my pocket carry be considered concealed? Here in the states where I live, the way I carry this is openly.

Yes I know we can belt carry, but I've seen someone get caught pocket carrying a fixed blade like shown above and get dinged.
As part of it was "concealed" according to the officer

It's a fantastic little fixed blade. Go to summer edc for me because of how light and slim it is.

Pink :eek::rolleyes: that's not manly.

(For the poor soul who doesn't realize, I'm joking)

Our law isn't very clear and left open for interpretation to the officer. Legally I could carry a katana on my back but I'd have to justify it.

I carry my 4-5" blades when hiking without issues since I'm in a wooded area it makes sense to people but doing that in a mall I'd get arrested.

Yup. S35vn. And spartan knows what they are doing with it.

He needs a good lawyer. I haven't read any Canadian laws about partial concealment being an offense.

If I understand the laws (or interpretations) properly, here in California, that would be considered concealed. Can't have any of the knife/sheath covered by clothing. I've heard (unsubstantiated) stories of guys with a fixed on their belt, and their shirt slipped over the handle, and it they were hassled for having a "concealed" fixed blade.

Well, crap! If that's the way it is in California, then Canada is probably the same.

Check out Charlie Mike Charlie Mike , he lives in California and open carries fixed everyday, from what see him wearing Sometimes his vest will cover part of the sheath but the handle hangs down and is readily seen.

I may be mistaken, if so Matt will correct me.

I've had no issues with the way I pocket carry this size fixed blade during my interactions with LEO in my state.

I would not consider that to be concealed. You can see a lot more of it than a pocket clipped folder!
Agreed, that's been the case on several occasions I've interacted with LE. An over zealous cop could take you to jail for nearly anything though. Whether or not it sticks is another question.

Wrongful arrest doesn't look good on cops and is typically avoided.

Yeah, Matt actually only lives a couple hours from me. I've seen his fixed carry routine, and if the stories I've heard are true, I thinks he's been lucky so far. A lot depends on the LEO you run into, as well. I've talked to deputies and CHP officers who have no idea what the knife laws are. It's possible that the stories I've heard are cases of LEO's being, shall we say, abundantly cautious. I believe they're given some leeway to decide if it is considered concealed, and their decision may have a lot to do with other factors, like demeanor and supposed intent.

Seldom do police officers know the law. I've been outright lied to by them when they think the "know" the law. They are dead wrong, quite often. I'd sooner print the law as it's written and carry it.

If they arrest you at that point which is highly unlikely, it's on them and nothing will come of it except potentially a lawsuit for wrongful arrest ;)

Yea, in California, fixed blades must be carried open and not covered by clothing. Folders are held to different standards

Matt carries a large fixed blade probably more than anyone in California.
