Zt 0452cf

I swear mine is harder than yalls.
I think it's also a matter of the slim handle profile causing me to put pressure on the lock bar when I grip it.
Is Sinkevich a lefty?? Cuz this thing flips open beautifully with my left hand...

I'll keep breaking it it, but as of right now, my right index finger tip is protesting loudly!

Mine is a beast, bro:D
5lbs of force and it didn't even budge:eek:

Crazy.
Mine seems like it's getting better, but the last 48 hours it's been tough. Don't think I'll need to send it in.

I applied some Tough glide to the pivot area, its loosening up slightly, its still a monster to open though. I'll next try disassembling it next and applying some CRK grease to the detent.

Just got mine about an hour ago. Must have gotten lucky because the detent & flipping action is perfect...not too hard, not too soft. Sharp as a freakin' laser (freakin' lasers are super sharp. right?). Much more pleasant detent than my 0454. Added a touch of Nano oil to detent ball & pivot area (for a little extra love). Flipping, flipping...oh yeah. All good to go! Beautiful, functional, ZT is shining with this one. If you're on the fence, jump off & go for it. I don't think you'll be anything but happy you did.

I found out the knife will flip easier while placing my Right index finger 3/4s over the flipper and then pressing down. Heres a shot of his first Zombie kill lol.

Someone requested a shot comparision to a Military

Picked up the last one at a local store. It's not as smooth as my 0454, but the flipping action is comparable. I do have to note that the edge that it came with is fantastic. I love how slim it is as well!

Got mine today, it's not bad, the detent is pretty stiff, but I'd say no worse than my 0801s110v or 0562cf came. Once thing I noticed is it was pretty rough and seemed to have a lot more "break in" compared to other ZT's I've had. Blade grind looks great and it did come very sharp. Centering is good, lockbar strength is very good.

One thing I noticed is putting any pressure on the lockbar impacts the detent strength more compared to other knives I have, and there's almost no handle left if you try and stay off the lockbar. It's magnified by the very short/small clip, since usually the clip will help shield some of that, I may have to try and 0801 clip and see if that helps.

I do wish the tip was about 1/8" shorter, I can easily drag my finger on the tip with almost no pressure when the blade is closed. The Jimping does nothing for me, it's so far forward on the spine compared to where your hand sits on the handle if creates an awkward position just trying to get the thumb far enough forward to get to it.

It's certainly an impressive sized knife and a very light compact package. It's bigger than I'd typically carry, but it's so slim that I doubt it would be noticeable in the pocket.

I just got this beast in the mail and opened the box and attempted to open it. Wow, I have a bruise on my finger due the insane detent. I found myself thinking, time to get ahold of ZT and send this one in for work but then I tried various ways to open the knife. Push button was a no-go but the light switch technique...and the blade flew out like a bat outta hell. Pretty happy now.

I'm quite happy with this knife, now that I've figured out how it likes to be opened. I'm thinking of exchanging the pocket clip with my Zt801s clip.

I got mine today, I'm the most pleased I have been with ZT yet. This one is incredible. I do have to be mindful of any fingers on the lockbar when opening. I like the smaller clip, too. Well done, ZT.

I know what you're saying about how its rough where the lock bar rubs the blade tang once it gets past the detent ball. Mines real rough...

Same here, a little too rough the only con I have with the knife.

Mine was rough but is now nice and smooth right before locking open. Give it a little break in time, it keeps getting better. The only thing I did was one drop of remoil in the the detent hole.

Yeah, mine is the same. In a quiet room I can hear it grinding :(

Try putting a little drop of oil on the detent ball (or put a tiny drop in the detent hole, and it'll spread along the detent ball's path).

It's the titanium lip around the steel insert that's grinding.

The stonewash makes it feel rough. It'll wear down soon...

Got mine today and I absolutely love this ZT! Detent is just slightly a bit tougher than I prefer but it will break in nicely. Here's a comparison pic with my Military and Sebenza 25.

Just received my 0452, the detent is overkill, seems to me there is a problem. The knife should not be this tough to flip open. At this rate I'm going to have sore fingers and arthritis in no time. ZT lets me down once again...

If you loosen the pivot, you can get it to deploy easier on one side at least. If you try for both, there will be a slight amount of blade play. Total crap.

That's unfortunate brotha. Mine has broken into perfection, I'd give it some time and not give up. Or you can send it me and I'll get rid of it :)
