You think if we got an order confirmation we're locked in? It'd be a bummer to receive an email saying error or something like that

Give them a call. I think that there were only 200-250 of these made so there can't be that many folks calling to bug them ;)

If anyone wants to sell theirs after getting it, i posted thread in wanted section. Thanks! Congrats to those who got one!

Im so disappointed, this is the first ZT limited edition sale I've taken part in where i was not able to get the knife. such is life i guess

If you get an actual e-mail confirmation that shows you have your order submitted, you should be good to go. I only use BladeHQ and if I get my e-mail confirmation, then that knife is as good as mine.

Maybe in a few days.. I woke up at 9am just to buy the 0999 so time for me to go back and catch up on sleep. Finals week in college man :(

I'm happy since it's the first one which I managed to get one

Reading is fundamental. Understanding is hard for you.

Meds check on aisle one - trolling post reported.

Thanks!

Too bad I wasn't trolling and I won't be infracted. :)

Secondly, calling people classless is trolling itself, but I didn't report you. I agree, you do need to take your meds.

First one I've tried for in a while. No luck. Too bad. I was going to sell it for cost, just to mildly irritate the flippers.

I snagged one myself - already shows "shipped" in my order status.

Are you here to talk about the ZT 0999, or knives, or instead here to try to browbeat the people talking about knives?

I see that in your post where you jump to an absurd absolute about "if people don't like it then they have no class", you also said you got to handle the knife "for as long as you wanted" at Blade in 2015.

So....if people don't like it, that must mean they don't have class, and here's a quote from Sal that somehow makes your opinion a fact. Got it.

P.S. I am one of those who got to handle this knife for as long as I wanted (which wasn't long) at Blade 15. Not a fan.

What were your thoughts on the KNIFE as opposed to your thoughts about my assertion that people can interact with class and dignity?

I got one! Placed order online then called to confirm its mine. Since they are local they said I can pick it up this afternoon. Pics coming later ;)

Congratulations to all who snagged one -

I think I did, but not counting chickens until the hatch etc.

Darth - that is awesome that you have a LKS to go pick yours up!! Can't wait for "in the wild" pictures of this one, since they only had Protos at Blade...

I already made my view of the knife clear. I thought the knife was ridiculous, if I'm being honest. I mean, when I first held it, I thought "Whoa, a new ZT! Cool!" But then I started examining it, and things went downhill from there. All the little areas for pocket lint to get into, blocky ergos, a chip of carbon fiber wedged onto the blade? What? Of course none of that matters, because who are we kidding, no one will be using these. Additionally, I don't require anyone's permission to have my own opinion on the knife. I do not as a general rule enjoy overly complicated designs, which this one is. I respect that there are people who think this knife is excellent, and that's fine. I don't like it, and that doesn't make me a "so-called knife person". I AM a knife person. You seem not to like that some folks don't like this overly complicated, fiddly, ridiculous design. Whelp, that's life.

This is my last post towards you on this subject. It appears that those who wanted them, got them, and everyone seems happy. So, I think we're done here.

You have a great day.

That is good, constructive criticism of the knife. There are areas for pocket lint to get into, as the knife design is very complex. The cutout on the blade and CF insert is for two reasons, one to lighten a large blade to make it more snappy (remember how relatively sluggish the ZT0600 blade flipped out?), and the CF insert is just to provide a little "bling" (assuming, did not specifically ask Jim about the thinking) as well as to showcase their technology in production.

If I did score one, I will be using it, although I agree with you that most people who DO snag one of these will not likely be using it to cut their apples for lunch etc, but rather will have it as a "man-toy".

Finally - you do misunderstand and jump to absurd absolutes about my assertions in this thread. I simply said that we can discuss the knives politely and with, dare I say it, class, rather than stomping around like children. I have never said that people are not entitled to a negative opinion, just that we should be able to express ourselves like adults.

If you take a few deep breaths and re-read all of the posts I have made here, you will see that I simply said we can be gentlemen.

Be a gentleman, be treated like one.

Thank you for taking time to reply about the knife, I appreciate your input.

You also enjoy the rest of your day.

It's a production, there are no custom makers at the KAI facility. I've handled shitty midtechs though, so don't buy into the market hype. For that matter I've handled shitty custom knives. As for production knives, this one is special.

Have you ever heard of Tim Galyean?

I do not care the aesthetics. And there is no way I would spend $750 on ZT?! I could get myself a nice custom for THAT.

I am certainly aware of Tim, but uncertain of his specific duties at KAI. I doubt that have someone of his caliber tuning and grinding the knives that come out of the factory. Perhaps he is hands on with special runs, or R&D. But if the designs are not his own, they would not quality as "midtech" regardless; under the normally accepted definition of "midtechs."

^ I had planned on seeing if I could land one of these this morning...until that is, the project manager (my boss), showed up on our jobsite and squashed any slim chances I may have otherwise had...

Once he left (9:29 a.m. PST), I called 4 of the 6 retailers and was told by each person I spoke with, that each retailer had sold out their quota in about a minute.

Either way, I'm not disappointed at all. I kind of like the fact, knowing that my checking account is $750.00 more in the black, than it otherwise could presently be.

First World problems.

I look forward to following up here, & reading how all of the lottery winners feel about the fit and finish of this very unique looking ZT LE. :)

To the lucky few here: congratulations!
