2011 fish pic thread

Ha ha thanks! It was a ball, I got him on a spinnerbait with a medium light rod so he put up a good tussle. Happy fishing to yall!

Yesterday a buddy and I hit the same spot we camped a few weeks back, trout were in there feeding. Couldn't hardly hook em for all the croakers. Started fishing real shallow, and ended up with a few keepers. Going to go back this afternoon with some different bait.

Trout are such a pretty fish. Ive only caught them twice.

Went back this afternoon with some white Gulp! 3" shrimp and wore em out. We landed over 50, most over 15", but the limit is 5 per person. Landed three sharks on cut bait, the smallest was gut hooked, so we kept him. Also got a spanish mackerel on the Gulp! My shoulder is actually a little sore. Great day.

Got into the trout again yesterday. They weren't hitting quite as much, but the surf was a lot rougher. Three of us went out there, were a couple shy of limiting. Had a blast. Other than a little windy, the weather was perfect.

yeah bud!! you are slaying those trouts.. how is the truck doing? any issues with it yet? my 4 door taco has 170k miles on her now and just as trustworthy as the day i bought her. i need to get that girl in the sand on the outer banks. i had pm'd you but maybe you overlooked it so ill ask you here. what are you using and how are you using them? i am headed to the coast next weekend and 2 weeks after that so i am hoping to get some surf fishing in. for the record we carolina rig with live bait for the floor mats in the bays and water ways. great tactic for flounder

Huh, I don't see a message from you man. The Taco has had zero problems, I really like it. We are using white and light grey GULP! brand artificial shrimp on white jig head, floating them about 18 inches under Cajun Thunder popping corks. Cast, pop it once or twice, doing a very slow retrieval, popping it every so often on the way in. This is on the Gulf side, in the grass flats in the bays the Nuclear Chicken colored GULP! shrimp was working pretty good a few weeks ago.

edit, just read about the cajuns.. nice!! i will be trying these out hopefully soon.

Anyways, yeah those corks work awesome with artificial and natural bait. We managed to eat most all that fish from last week, so a buddy and I went yesterday. I lost one of my big shark rigs to a big boy. Then turned around and caught this one on my ultralight rod on 8lbs test. It was a blast.

We limited on trout and caught a Spanish too.

My buddy had several Spanish cut his line. He had started using different lures after limiting and didn't want to use a leader. It was fun. Taking a couple guys out there tomorrow. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can catch a few.

It's 25 per person out here in LA.

This was the day after mothers day. The lake os screwed now because of the mud.

Caught a bunch today. Kept thirteen and threw back two or three dozen panfish and about a dozen small bass. These guys couldn't get enough of my rubber legged foam spider thingy. Fly fishing ftw.

Cleaned 'em all w/ my BK2, by the way.

It's 25 per person out here in LA.

NW Florida. It's 4 per person in the south end of the state. There is also a minimum limit of 15 inches, and a max of 20 inches. You can have one over 20". Nice haul man!

Caught a few more and some Spanish the other day.

Got a couple casts in at work Saturday morning and plucked this guy on a small buzzbait, hes not huge but he sure got my day off to a good start...

I went out with my dad a few days back on the Daniels Branch of the Patapsco here in MD. We caught our limit and then some of Rainbows and Brown trout but put them all back. Also caught some smallmouth and sunfish as well. Its tough to take pics when you are doing catch and release with a cell phone but I took some pics of the spillway to show the area we fish. We were using a mixture of spinners and worms...more luck with the worms but also more small stuff.

Went out to a small river today. Started out throwing a Strike King Rocket Shad. First fish I caught was a Dogfish. I cant tell you how disappointed I was. Thought it was a huge walleye. Caught a half dozen smallmouth . Nothing spectacular. Caught them on Rocket Shads and 1/8 ounce Rattle Trap. Also caught quite a few drum and a crappie. Decided to try for some catfish. The thirteen year cicada hatch is on so I collected a few and caught one nice Channel.
