2013 BladeForums Traditional Knife Official KICKOFF!

I like whittlers; this is my everyday desk knife. But we're beating the wharncliff to death.

Yes. Carried all over, even last tour in the sandbox. The pen rubs the liner a little, but I still like it.

Blowing against the wind here, but I really like the idea of a single blade, if not a sodbuster then how about a Lanny's clip? Of course you could get really wild here and go for a friction folder :D

Why would ya want a , Sodbuster, :/ never seen a nice lookin' one,I dare any one to show me a Sodbuster pic that's worth of our forum's knives. ;)

Thanks for the pic, Eisman.
Speculative specifications:
+Jigged bone please, dark brown, or maybe Yellow Rose?
+1095 or D-2
+Ratail bolsters (drool slobber, slobber)

Charlie,

What length?
I sense folk are saying 4" is too big
3 5/8"

I would like stainless
ATS34?

Wow, two days away from this forum, and dogs are unleashed on the 2013 knife :D
First, I'd like to thank Blaine and Dave for taking this load on them. Yes it might be fun to be part of the committee, but it's surely alot of work. Also, thanks to Spark, to Frank and Gary, to Charlie, and everyone else who will be involved in the process.
I expressed my preference for the Congress jack long ago, and I'm not changing my mind on it. If we'll pick a CJ, I'd like to keep it around 3,5", and stainless would be my choice as well.
As an alternative, I'd also appreciate a single bladed pattern. Not really a Sodbuster (there's too many out there in production cutlery), but rather something less common (like a sheepsfoot for example).
Either way, I hope we get a smaller and more slender knife compared to the 2012 knife, but I understand this depends alot on the pattern chosen (a small slender whaler would not really fit ).

I like the idea of a one-blade knife since it will be different than Forum Knives of yore and keep down production costs. How about a Sodbuster type knife with a Lambsfoot or Zulu-type blade and nice ivory micarta scales? Durable, useful, relatively cheap, classy-looking (for a Soddy), and unique in non-custom circles.

Pictures guys lets see some pretty Soddies, your not convincin' me, I'm still leanin' towards the Congress here look at this beautiful CJ show me some Sodbusters that'll come close, I got's lottsa pics of CJ & HC, I wanna see a Battle Royal between the Congress and the Sodbuster, I don't think the Peanut's even close but hey ya never know if we can get some of the old timers who are Peanut addicted, (Carl, Jack) to show some of their prize Peanuts we might have dark horse pull up from behind.

A little about the knife below.

Well after reading through all posts, I guess it won't be the sunfish I was hoping for... lol

I will be happy with anything, but my second choice if it was in my hands would be a whittler.

I like that Whittler, I don't know how good that Spear, (almost looks like a Cotton Sampler) blade would be for whittlin' but it looks awesome on that frame. :)
