The thread is about the BF knife, Facebook, and flippers. I am discussing this. However that's not what you want, you want a sounding board where you can pound your chest and make yourself feel good. Or something like that, but not discussion.

You seem to be derailing to talk about me. Although, you also seem to be derailing it to talk about good people that you know who aren't flippers and have been contributing members of Bladeforums for more than a year, so I'm not certain that you've been particularly on topic this entire time.

Well back when this party started the word slipped out and dudes from various Facebook or knife forums tried sliding into DMs like they were sizing up a new date. The old "Hey longtime lurker, just heard you're making my dream knife where do I sign up:" one dude was even bold enough to try and glom onto the batch to get a whole run of the same knives for his group.

Say the words GEC Barlow and watch people climb over each other to grab a few (mostly to flip on ebay for 500% markup).

Oh right, I had forgotten about that guy. Almost ruined the whole thing. Jeez.

In retrospect, the whole porch knife thing might have been ruined anyway.

Whole atmosphere of the traditional exchange is different. It’s cutthroat and deep with sharks. A few years ago you’d see something like “This looks like a good one, my friend. I’d like to buy it. Will send PayPal in a few”.

Now some don’t even bother with the pleasantries and only post “take”.🙄
