2021 BF Forum knife vs. Facebook & Flippers

The process was fracked. It basically begged flippers and non-community members to snake in just to get the knife while longtime members, some with the whole collection of BF knives to be left hanging. Have you asked the powers that be about how they feel the process went?

Yup, these are being shipped in reverse order from time of order for some insane reason...so even though I was one of the early orders it looks like I'll be getting mine last-ish, while people who squeaked in at the end with padded post counts already have theirs🤬👎

Well that’s definitely frustrating- I’ve been deliberately not looking for a shipping email notice because i don’t want to know where I stack up in the line. One day a knife will just appear in the mailbox, I hope.

So I get what you mean about new folks and the post count fluffing, but have we actually seen flipping yet? I was taking you very literally.

In the beginning I confirmed that I’d purchase one , then at the end it was like I blinked and it was over ? o_O

It's because turning a stack of printed paper over is very, very difficult for busy people. It's like understanding a magic trick, or particle physics, just really hard to grasp for some people.

Doctors indicate that vasectomies are only 99.9% effective, so it'd be hard to expect that we avoid flippers when things aren't so... clean cut.
I just hope that the vetting process is tighter than the general ordering process.
 
The 2018 BFs knife was a really fun process , "if" there is ever another one maybe that could be used as a template ?

Meanwhile, guys with post counts padded to juuuuuust enough are in that thread talking about how they can't wait because their BF knife is arriving tomorrow.

But hey, it is what it is.

This isn't surprising. There are multiple people in that group who have posted pics of their just-arrived BF knife over there....who didn't post those pics here. Things that make you go "Hmmmm....."

I guess that this knife is no more available... How was it possible to order one? From France it's not easy to buy any GEC [Sorry, my comment doesn't belong here either.] [Moving picture to "Whatcha totin", where I must have thought I was.]

Yep, I count at least five people who've gleefully posted photos in the last three pages of that thread who would have been disqualified from getting a 2021 BF Knife if there had been even an ounce of vetting done. But I guess somebody was too busy. Oh well.

Of course I had to go look. Hmmm...of those nine: two are in that thread, three are in GAWs, but the rest are good, positive contributions to the community. 🤨

I, and a lot of regular Porch members, are reluctant to complain about how things are run, when we aren't the ones volunteering the time and trouble to put up money and ship, etc. It's still very frustrating to see how things went this year.
