Finally got my hands on one (Fathers day gift from my beautiful wife) and even after all the hype it still had a wow factor. So much for your money with this beauty!

OK, I've had an old SOG Mini autoclip hanging on my pocket or waistband for 15 years now.
It has now found it's retirement home in the drawer.
The Skyline is light, thin, with good blade geometry, and is like a razor blade.
Value for the money is great.

I had a Sog Flash1 once. After using the Skyline, I definitely don't miss it.

I was thinking of polishing the grind on mine but the made in USA mark is on it and I don't want to lose that. It is a great knife. It and the OD-1 put Kershaw back on my radar.

I'm a fan of TNP also. I bought a skyline the day after I saw his video. It kicked my persistence out of edc. Then I got the rat1 because if his video and carried it over the skyline. Now I carry my skyline again because if the weight. I also put a mirror polish on my skyline and love it even more. Now it's a mean slicer and can do food prep like no other lol. prob the best 30$ I ever spent. Now I'm looking at the kershaw chill

@themegajosh09: I've got the Chill and I love it. It's a great cutter with a decent steel. If you get it, I'm sure you won't regret it because it's only a touch more than half the price of the Skyline. Right now I have to carry the Chill over the Skyline because, even though I bought two Skylines a week ago, both of them had major problems. Long story short, after repairing one myself to give it to a friend for her birthday and sending in another one for repair, I'm slightly disillusioned as to the hype surrounding the Skyline. I really want to like it, but having received two lemons has kind of diminished the knife in my eyes. If anybody is willing to send me a specimen that I won't need to repair myself or send in, I might be able to be convinced of the Skyline's greatness. ;) Otherwise I'll carry my Chill around and put off the Skyline for a while until I put this little rough patch behind me.

This is why bladeforums has created a black hole in my wallet where my credit card usually is... Especially great value knives like this, I personally would rather have 3 or 4 Kershaws, than one Benchmade. (I'd still get the Benchmade...I'd just buy 3 or 4 Kershaws first lol)

Uhm... dang. I have a red one and now I have to look for a tan one too?

Hey guys, I'm still kind of new here and am trying to get a hang of everything that is going on. So far this place is great, and everyone here knows WAY more than I do about knives.

I've got a thread over in the general knives subforum about a 2-3in gentlemans folder for EDC in the office. HERE is the thread if you want to check it out. One of the knives that was recommended was the skyline, which I want to like (especially after this thread). One thing I am weirded out about by it is the fairly large finger guard. One of the other issues I may have with it is that its a touch bigger than I am looking for, and honestly... I have no idea what the thing looks like when it is closed. Anyone have some shots of it closed they want to share?

Also, I'm considering the chill, since it seems like a great deal as well, and while the blade is the same length, its a bit thinner looking, and the finger guard is much less pronounced.

And Guyon, is that the OD 1 on the left? have you ever used the OD2? I looked at that one as well, and really liked the shape, but it looked like it might be really thick for such a small knife, which would make me sad.

Thanks for the help guys.

Wow, there seem to be quite a few Seb' listed in the marketplace today. Makes one wonder if this thread is responsibe for that. ;-p

ocnlogan--the skyline is so slim and lightweight that you won't know it's there. the od-2 is pretty small and the od-1 feels quite a bit heavier in my pocket than the skyline. get a skyline.
