I will never have any respect for the man or any product he is affiliated with or any company that endorses him with deals.

I guess that puts you at odds with the Good Ol' US of A since Strider has several government contracts for their knives........

You know what is said, "Love it or leave it......." :p

I agree for the most part. I think that Mick took responsibility when he offered to make it right for Midget.

While we might disagree whether it's poorly made, poorly finished or has a few flaws, I do ABSOLUTELY agree that people should be free to post whatever they want about a knife. I think it's important to consider, however, that the original context was that this was a "factory first" knife when it wasn't even "factory" (stamped M. STRIDER vs. STRIDER) or a "second" in the sense that it was sold...

I think therein lies the issue... Midget thought he was getting a factory first and it was not a factory first. Someone dropped that ball and I guess one could fault Mick for either a) letting the knife get out of his shop in the first place or b) not stamping "NOT FOR SALE!" on it...

Even Cold Steel knows enough to stamp R on their rejects.

This thread is going NOWHERE!

Most people who bash strider knives - have limited experience with strider knives... Once you really deal with the strider crew (either have your knife fixed-up, or just chat) - you'd become a staunch follower of the Strider Knives Co.

My only advice to original poster - THINK BEFORE YOU POST!!!! :barf:

What an absolute ignorant statement to make! The U.S. goverment had contracts for 800 dollar toilet seats too! Do you realy want to go there?

Dekdek,

1) How do you construe Midget is a customer, given that he bought a knife from a third party that was gifted and not meant for general consumption? Keep in mind, Mick still offers to honor the warranty.

2) Where did you get the idea that Mick was "breaking out his posse?"

Stop being ignorant yourself, you are acting like a cretin, get off your little stump, and go back in your cave troll. You have no buisness posting in this thread, since you previously posted your true feelings.

If you have no desire to buy or support anything affiliated with Strider the man and Strider the co. go move to canada, the US govt. is affiliated with Mr. Mick Strider, be it through law enforcement officers or this nation's great soldiers, lots of people that work for the govt. use striders. Oh damn, looks like I "went there"

Another intelligent argument, Yea right. How about you add some intelligence to the thread instead of light weight rhetoric and maybe Ill mail you 10 dollars worth of monkey mud nuggets.

You have no idea how stupid you sound do you? Just curious if you have ever bothered to re-read what you write, because you keep attempting to sound like you've been this great thread master, continually adding thoughtful posts and intelligence. But if you actually dig past your light-weight, half assed "rhetoric" (I put that in quotes since I don't think you are capable of legitamate rhetoric) you find...NOTHING. Go play with your trollish friends, there is nothing left for you to **** on in this thread.

A maker stamps his name on a blade because its his. Who gets it and how they get It dosent change who made it or the condition it was in on release. If its a reject you stamp it "R" or grind off the name or my preference cut it with a cutting torch. This protects your customers from recieving second class rejects at full price or having salers through ignorance or deception resale them representing them as first class.

Nobody has said he wouldnt warranty it. I did say his attitude sucks and he has a big mouth and he pissed in my wheaties with his less than strategic personal diss to me who basicly had no oppinion on his knives other than 2 I personaly inspected and as far as I know those 2 could have been traded for leg at a whorehouse here in Pattaya or could even be counterfit made in China copys being passed off here during Cobra Gold. But since Im nobody I guess Nobody cares.

Instead he chose to get on here and shoot his mouth off and then break out his POSSE to circle the wagons.

Mick didn't break out his posse. The folks that are standing behind him in this thread are doing so out of respect for the man and his company, not because they were asked to by Mick.

Damn I'm glad I am able to make my own decisions and am not dependent on the overheated opinions of so many of the posters on threads like this one. At least its providing good entertainment.

One of the funny things here is all the talking tall, and all the Im a secret ninja with a ID card so my oppinion is valid here is my credentials so im qaulified to tell you about knives rhetoric. Most of the posts here I agree have been a waste of time but the reason was most of the folks here chose to be cheerleaders and try to defend the undefendable. Maybe a couple of you guys have even earned a free t-shirt but you failed miserably at understanding the issues here. If you dont get it fine, you didnt learn anything fine. Talk is great if you can back it up but if you cant its talk. A reject knife is a reject and I said before " stamp the tang NOT FOR SALE " end of story. For some of you guys claiming to be ex-military and active duty, have you ever heard the term " Prevenative Maintenence", Its not magic like knowing the future its simple commen sense like guesing potential problems before they happen and taking action to prevent them from biteing you in the @$$.

How many mispellings can you find here? I find at least six.

I say we take up a collection to buy Dekduck a dictionary, so that his posts will have a little more credibility. :D

You are a nobody, get over it, move on, go buy a sebenza: it's a damn nice knife. And remeber, punctuation is your friend.

Eric

dekdek you've already made your point, ad nauseum. Yes we get it, you don't like Striders. Now you start crapping on the US? Stop being a crybaby whiner.

I stand corrected, Let his dogs off the leash.

Dekdek, you aren't a nobody and your opinion matters at least to me because you are a fellow poster. I am interested if your reasoning is based on well reasoned facts or simple kneejerk reactions.

It would seem that the biggest fault on Mick's behalf regarding the blade is that it was not explicitly stamped "NOT FOR SALE!" Perhaps he felt that with the other cosmetic flaws present in the blade that it would speak for itself. This pales in comparison to the fact that he gave this knife away in the first place, as he has done with MANY others, including making knives and donating the profits to organizations such as Camp I Can for autistic kids. He does all this very very low key. That's just my opinion.

Clearly there is shared liability to be borne by others rather than Mick alone. I think it is important to consider the overall context of each of these events before declaring someone is a jerk and that their gear sucks.

I don't know, man. This thread reminds me of my Grandpa.
