Mick can stand up for himself , he dont need me to do that. My point is a you have an issue with something you bought ( lets say a new PC ) , you contact where you bought it first right ? or maybe you contact the manufacture with a chance to make it right. You dont go straight to www.PCforums.com and complain , what good does that do ?

Not giving either the seller or the maker the chance to make it right before going gradeschool on a forum is just stupid. Doesnt matter to me what knifemaker it is , give the maker a dam chance to make it right. Think about it , does that not make sense ?

But Midget didnt do it cause he was " lazy " ? that ain't lazy , that is troll like if you ask me.

Just keep on talking,,, Thats the whole reason I use the dogs name is to stay on a leash, If I didnt for sure I would be banned. so go ahead and keep talking and let anyone reading this have plenty of insight into your "fan club" spin and blame the messenger mentality.

Dude, relax. The gentleman you are quoting is a very good guy. He isn't part of a "fan club". He isn't blaming the messenger. He's just voicing his opinion. I think that people on both sides need to chill a little and let things work themselves out. I know where I stand on the issue, and no ammount of argument is going to change that opinion. I doubt anyone's mind will be changed by the vast majority of posts in this thread. Let's let Midget, Mick, and Dave work this out. That's what should have happened to begin with. :)

Was gonna post something, but i think I am going to unsbuscribe instead. This is now turning into a praise thread for mods over on the Hardcore Individual forum....hopefully when everyone is done patting themself on that back, we can all move on.

You know, poiting out my perception really shouldn't bother you, as the posted conversation was between Michelle and myself. I am not on the forum you specified, but I can call it as I see it.

I will say this, since you've decided to involve in my affairs (posts). You may want to go back to making knives, so maybe, someday, I will have heard of you and your knives, and therefore will recognize your name by those rather than your apparent dislike for all things Strider.

I can understand objections to many things that have occured in this thread. Really, I can. However, quitting a forum just because there are too many newbies is just snobbish.
There does seem to be a bumper crop of ignorant arrogant newbies with an entitlement attitude and learning disabilities. What ever happened to sitting back and observing to avoid exposing ignorance?

To the newbies who want to learn, my comments are not directed at you. Stick around and observe. You will learn and I will learn from you.

I know I should really be letting this go, but no one seems to get that Mick was actually very rude, and no matter what was said to him, it was unexcusable. Adults should know better than to act so childish in a public forum.

I do realize that Mick was rude. So did he. He apologized for what he posted. There is nothing more he can do. If that's not good enough for some people then so be it, but I am not going hold it against him. I've said some pretty stupid things when angry, and I am not going to hold Mick to a higher standard than I hold myself.

What bugs me is that this is far from the first time. Mick has been in this business and dealt with negativity enough times that I find it unexcusable.
These forums get enough traffic that you should probably consider this the television of the knife world. When people lose their cool on TV, they lose lots of credibility. Do I consider myself a potiential Strider custom? I did.

In defense of midget and backing what I stated about a shoot the messenger mentality Ill change your story a little.
Lets say Roy gets him a fancy magazine with all kinds of chainsaws and pictures in it with a bunch of lumberjacks saying how great this MODEL A chainsaw is so going on this he gets all excited and saves his money up finds him a deal and checks in the mail delivery occurs and he opens up his fancy new chainsaw and " what the he]], that dont look right " so what does he do ? probley hops in the truck and goes down to the gas station to see the guys and let them take a look at to see what they think. kinda like what happened here without the bs.

I would guess the guy is scared or embarresed by all the bs thats been said here but he could be a troll, Ill add this and this is again my oppinion, I think anybody and I mean anybody should be able to get on here say anything they want about any knives they want without getting cursed, bullyed, investigated, blackballed, defamed on other forums, spoken to as a child, ran off, As long as they have something credable to say or have questions or misunderstand what is going on. What do you think this does to potential customers here and new people in the knive industry? PROMOTE GOOD WILL?

Right, he's really going to go down the corner gas station and let all of his buddies see that he bought something sight un-seen and then didn't have the common sense to send it directly back and instead he's going to go around to everyone he knows and prove to them that he's the village idiot.

I don't think his post does anything to but make him look like a troll. The knife was a bro knife , a second that was GIVEN away , and later sold on the secondary. I know this is hard for you to grasp that Mick would just give away knives that while perhaps may have a blemish , I know the bro knife I recieved was 100% purfect .

So what did Midget expect us to do ? fix it for him ? to my knowledge he has still not contacted anyone to give them a chance to make it right .

All his post did was say " Hey look , I dont have the common courtesy to let the seller ( maker ) redeem himself ". And it's not like he doesnt know how to contact either party.

If someone showed up here and was slamming Spyderco or Benchmade , would you not expect them to contact the manufacture first ? and then they can post about what the WHOLE story is .

I buy my knives to use , I choose to buy Strider , Blackwood , Simonich , |Zero| , and a few others. You buy what you want but I know the makers I deal with stand behind their work , if you give them a chance.

Don't give them a chance , then that's not the makers fault.

True the squeeky wheel may get the grease , but it is also true that sometimes the squeeky wheel gets ignored.

Would you blame a maker for never selling a knife to "midget" , dont worry the people who need to know the real names of those who stir up ****.

FYI even though I go by the45guy here my real name is John T Wylie Jr , and I make knives , though I give most away to friends.

So I managed not to post for 24 pages.
But now that the true identidy of the original poster in this thread is known to me(no, I wont post it but if Cougar,Spark, or Esav want to know, just email me) a little investigation reveals that he has done business directly with the Strider shop on a bunch of different occasions, including having a knife refinished.
Kind of makes one wonder about his motives in starting the thread.

BTW, NY show is in 4 weeks, hope to see some of the NY area commandoes in this thread who made insinuations at each other square off with each other there. Will they wear a nametag so others will know them or will they quietly slink through the show and make it safely back home to their keyboard bunker?
