It's not the internet that many knifemakers are sick of, it is internet forums.

If it wasn't for the internet forums and word of mouth from respected forum members, most knife makers would be nothing. Nobody would know of them or what type of person they are. I'm sure there are other knife makers who make as good or better quality knife for the money than Strider does. And if you complain about it you won't have to be cursed by the maker and threatened by his phony cronies who hide in the dark. Through these forums we learn who these makers are.And when we buy something that they make they appreciate it.I wouldn't take one of Striders knifes if he gave it to me for nothing. Life is too short to deal with arrogant and nasty knife makers like Strider.

What the hell kind of a reply was this. How do you know what kind of a person is by the way they post on this or any other forum. A person can type all types of BS and you don't really know by that what type of person they are. And what is this crap about "Phony cronies" who hide in the dark. I didn't see any of the Striderites "hiding in the dark". What the hell kind of remark was that anyway? I think they pretty much came here and stated their minds. Mick himself never said that it was a "bro knife" for certain.
He merely implied that it might be a "bro knife".

His actual words were:

"This knife is at LEAST second hand....who knows how beat the thing is. It may have even been gifted to someone....i have no way of knowing becuase it was not purchased through our dealer network."

I agree that the internet has helped knife makers. I would alos say they advertise in a lot of knife and gun magazines. How many Glock ads do you see on television??? Not many I think.

The internet can be great because you can show thousands of guys your product. It can also be very bad because one guy trashing your product can hurt your business. Or petty little forum wars can destroy your business. There are makers that have quit the forums because of crap like this.

The problem is NOT the knives...the problem is Strider's attitude.

I think the problem is the attitude of many people in this thread. Do you not understand that knives are just a hobby to most of us but to some it is their livelyhood. It is what puts food on the table. If your product was being trashed it might cause you to have a bad attitude also.
