Allan Blade

The longer this goes on the worse it will get. Each month that goes by, Allan will have bills to pay and food to buy. He isn't making knives, so money isn't coming in. Any funds that he is receiving are not going towards the purchase of knifemaking materials, they are going for day to day expenses. I have seen this happen before and it can end the career of even makers with the best of intentions.
 
Did anyone really expect a different outcome?

Will Joe be paid in full??
 
What pi**es me off PERSONALLY are the nasty and/or negative comments that were made specifically about Bladeforums by several members over at BB. :mad:

Now they're singing a different tune about Mr. Blade. Gee, maybe we should have warned them? :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Really?...what do you call openly encouraging a KNOWN conman to ply his trade among your members, even after repeated warnings......sure seems like "support" to me.

I've asked him before, will he cover any loss by BB members to Allan if they get scammed on his watch?

You know things are bad when Allan doesn't come around to tell us that he will get everyone their knives and that those that haven't dealt with him should get off his back.
 
Just read a new post from Allan Blade on British Blades. He is asking everyonge that prepaid for a knife to email him so that he can make sure they get their knives. Wouldn't you think that he should have kept a record of all the people that prepaid him? How in the world can a person function when they are so totally lacking in organization?

with all the decent hard working honest smiths around who do as good (or better) work than anyone at fair prices who are scrupulously honest its honestly pretty hard to have much sympathy for folks who knowing someones bad rep not only buy something from him to start with, but are foolish enough to pay up front (after knowing the guys rep).

sorry, but a few old sayings come to mind ie "a fool and his money..........."

i just hope joe gets his money thats due him, the folks on BB shoulda known better after all the antics allen blade pulled imho.

the folks on BB will just have to deal with it.

What a plan! He can just cross everyone who doesn’t post in that thread off his list and keep their money, and if there are still too many he can wait a little while and then pretend to have lost the list again.
 
I guess I see things a little differently here. I think Martyn is as big a problem as Allan Blade. I'm NOT saying he is a rip off artist like AB but he was acting as his shill. I hope Martyn was just blind to the facts but I don't think so because now he is covering his tracks by locking the thread. A decent man would admit in public on BB that he made a mistake by not allowing criticism of AB and BB's members may have suffered harm because of that.

In addition he "threatened" BF many times with his promises never to return and his insulting comments. AB isn't even paying Joe. Sargey is. No telling when he'll receive his new knife. That should be aired on BB as well.

The fact that AB makes good knives means nothing to me. Likewise his sheaths. The man is unethical and his products are tainted.

Joe I'm glad Sargey paid you. You deserve your money back. Sargey...good luck.


BTW if any of you plan on buying anything from me in the future, please send the money now. My daughter needs a new cheerleader uniform and I could really use a new hot tub. Thanks (way) in advance.

This isn't actually correct. Sargey received a knife from Allan that was not what he ordered. Allan told sargey that he would make him another knife to replace that one. Allan then had the knife sargey got put up for auction with the proceeds going to Joe. Now, if sargey doesn't get the replacement knife, then it will have been him that paid Joe. If he does get the replacement knife, it will have been Allan that made the payment.
 
Keith thanks for clarifying. I assumed Sargey paid up front and yet has no knife to show for it.
 
Well, there have been half a dozen people in that thread that have sent Allan emails about knives they are owed. There are probably many more that have emailed him without posting. I wonder how long it is going to take Allan to catch up. He states that he is a full time knifemaker. I sure hope his wife makes a decent living, because it sure doesn't look like he does.
