You aren't going to change anyone's mind by throwing a tantrum in here. Those who dislike BB already do, and those that don't...

We let people form their own opinions here without censorship. It is the censorship on BB that has many of us shaking our heads. Like you said, your BBS, your rules. Just because a few people here have voiced their opinions about BB and BB policies doesn't mean that everyone here has the same opinion.

Frankly, no one is benefitting from this back and forth between the two forums. This will go back and forth without any further resolution except bad feelings. This pot stirring isn't helping and won't change a thing when the real issue of contention is Allan Blade.

Has the person that donated the knife for the auction received his knife from Blade? If not, besides obtaining money from Joe. . . . . .what have you really accomplished by letting Blade come to your forum and play?

I'd like to add, that much of the discussion here about BB is also how many of your own users Allan has ripped off. We are all knife collectors here, regardless of whose back yard we play in.

I have a sense that this thread may be about to degenerate again, so I am out.

You seem to think the membership is mutually exclusive. Do you not think BB members read other forums or are members of other forums? Do you think everyone who has been ripped off by Blades is exclusively a BB member? Do you not think some of those on BB who are asking for their knife were not BF members first? They are members on my forum yes, but I dont own them. Many of those who are owed knives, joined BB ...because it was a way of reaching Allan. But 61 posts in 2 and a half years is hardly prolific. In the past he has had far more promotion here. It's your mess too you know. :rolleyes:

Personally, I don't think banning him is a good idea. It takes away a place that he can keep in touch with those he owes knives to. Not saying he will keep in touch, but if he isn't banned there is always the possibility.

So you think he should be banned then? Only problem is that some who are owed knives by him (British and Americans) have asked that I dont do that. They think that although communication is dreadfull, if I slam the door, that is the end of all hope.

I'm equivocal. There are good arguments for and against.

He's not banned here is he?

So what's the policy here? he's not banned here is he? How do you rationalise keeping the door open yet avoid accusations of promoting him, as the pond life have suggested?

As an irish american, whose uncle had a price put on his head by the british for being a freedom fighter, i can always take pleasure when some brits are scammed by anyone. Payback's a bitch. :) Or as my italian relatives would say, anyone stupid enough to prepay for a knife made by a man you've never seen who lives on another continent deserves to get ripped.

No, you offered a suggestion that sits squarely on the fence, it may make you feel like you are doing something, but you are doing nothing.

If I give him a derisory custom title, what is his incentive ever to come back to BritishBlades - would you if your moniker had "thief" or some such under it. I dont think Alan is going to come solely out of a sense of obligation do you?

There are only two (real) options. Either he is allowed to catch up and make good, without the libelous verbosity seen here - and the threads concerning his backlog and word of mouth stand as a warning to others, ...or he is banned.

Banning him is the easy option, click and he's gone. he's somone elses problem. But as keith says, a lot of people from many different forums see BritishBlades as their last best hope. Would you take that away from them?

There is a lot of posturing on here, but any constructive solution is going to take more than grunts.
