Anyone been with any strippers lately?

It's interesting, I have this coated DS8 and it's been used quite heavily. The coating did get a little smoother, but appears very strong.

My new coated MMD has visible coating impact just by sticking it into some wood. I don't mind use marks, and it's supposed to be a user, still undecided ....

dude. just do it. itll feel way better once you do

Cool, thanks !

Do you happen to have a pic how it looked immediately after the strip, before the sanding ? Decarb ?

Roland.
Didn’t take a pic immediately after, just wiped it down and started sanding and polishing. I’m only like 75% done on the blade.

The only time I have seen there not be decarb is if the blade was abrasive blasted before coating, this is not double cut but more raw. I've only seen this with knives where there were both combat grade and limited edition offered simultaneously with full flat grinds. Most blades will have the decarb present, fyi.

And here it is. Love how it came out looking a little scarred.

Smarter people can explain better than I lol. Check this thread
There are a few comments in this article thread that imply that competition finished knives have decarb under the scales, is that true?
