Beckerhead Knife Making and Modification Thread

Awesome WorldWood!

Came out real nice. That stonewash does look great and your logo rocks buddy.

Very nice job indeed!

Love the stone washing. Cuts pretty good, too! Nice job, buddy! I wish stuff would stop breaking at my house so I could spend some $ on steel. Roofer's coming this weekend to give us an estimate, and the washing machine $#it the bed last weekend. Soon, tho. Soon.

Nice work IWHAF!

I look forward to hearing how it holds up!!

I finished the handles on this one. Just need to put an edge on her now.

More pics in my WIP thread.

These BK 16s, in various stages of modification, are nearing completion. The middle 16 is a drop point companion to the Wharncliffe. The handles are very comfortable. The fourth knife was designed by former professor from my under grad days. I made it as a gift for him commemorating 46 years of friendship with him and his wife.

just love the mods on the beckers! AWESOME!!!

Thanks JD!! And no not this one... I wanna keep my first one, but my wife says my first knife is hers LOL

Granite, PM is not letting me send anything... What size knife are you trying to make as your first knife? Depending on the size you need, ill send ya a piece of 52100 if steel is the only thing stopping you from making your first knife... I only got 1/8" thick and 1.5" wide stock though. So it would have to be for a little one LOL

Here are my Hex Hawks. The bottom hex cutout works on 1/4" screwdriver bits. The way the cut is done the bit will not slide all the way through, or slide up and down in use, the bit goes in 1 way only and sits in enough to use it but not enough to where your trying to hold the bit steady and turn the hawk. The top cutout is more for looks but it does function and work on bolts with a .43" head.

They will be getting stonewashed once complete, they will have sheaths and can easily go on a keychain as well.

These are obviously not done or heat treated yet. Still lots to do with them. But ill have a video showing how they work in time.

WW, The video showing your knife cutting effortlessly through cardboard was enlightening. Hope to see more of your work and perhaps a tutorial teaching your stonewashing method.
Granite, Your 7 looks lean, mean and I'm certain very sharp. Your work in progress taught me a few things about making scales. Well done.

This is the latest change to the third 16. The large jimping never looked right on the smaller knife. So out came the French curves and a thin Sharpie to mark the new location of the spine.

Thank you Granite and HH!! I do have a video explaining the stonewash. It was actually on the video i made showing the edge performance but i cut that section off to shorten the video... Ill try and re-upload it later on!!
