As I noted, obviously his behavior after the deal is inexcusable. I'm in no way attempting to defend his bad behavior. However, he was entirely within his rights to say that he wasn't satisfied with the previous deal for any reason... or none at all. A deal is not done until both parties are satisfied. In that case the deal still isn't done because Heiheit still doesn't have his stones back. In this case the deal isn't done because our OP paid for something he didn't get with no resolution. I don't expect either situation to be resolved.

Maybe I am getting old and my mind is confused.
Benya asked Heiheit to reverse the trade involving the DMT stones, Heiheit refunded him and never got the aligner back. That's theft. I think I remember Heiheit also mentioning that Benya had sold or traded him a knife as new and that that knife was actually used.
In the case of the sharpened Millie, Benya sold as new an S90V Millie to nirvanero that had actually been sharpened. He offered to reverse the trade if nirvanero sent him a knife in NIB condition (and forfeited all shipping costs). He also deleted all the pictures from his listing that were evidence of the actual condition of the knife.
Two different situations, true, but I don't see how his behavior with Heiheit can be considered justified...

His not returning the stones cannot be justified. I'm merely pointing out that his desire to return the stones is entirely reasonable if they were not up to his expectations... even if said expectations were entirely unrealistic or unreasonable.
 
Maybe, but at the same time he sold a used knife to Heiheit as new. So his double standards completely disqualify him from demanding that Heiheit reverse the trade.

Not in the least. Really the only unwritten rule around here is: In order for a deal to be done both parties have to be satisfied. Notably Heiheit could also have reversed the trade if he had so chosen.
 
Let me rephrase: if I trade you my crappy knife for your shitty one I kind of lose the moral right to go on the GB&U and claim you ripped me off.
I am in no way implying that Heiheit sent a bad DMT aligner to Benya, but even if he had, the fact that Benya also sent him a BM 710 that was not new as described precludes him from claiming that he was cheated.
Actually, my gut feeling is that the DMT aligner that Heiheit sent Benya was fine, it is just that Benya did not want it anymore (maybe because all he needed was to sharpen that S90V Millie he sold nirvanero, but that cannot be proven). The way everybody piled on Heiheit in the DMT thread made him reverse the deal and because of that he lost the aligner and the money he sent Benya.

Bottom line: a BF member has stolen from another member (Heiheit) and has not even received a slap on the wrist.

Seems like it. I gave him negative feedback, but what good will that do?
 
Spark jumped into this 9 days ago and told him to make it right or else. I have no reason not to believe that he will handle the situation. Sure he can come back under another name but folks around here seem to be pretty good at figuring out what passes the sniff test and what doesn't. I really do feel bad for both you guys though. This has been a complete mess. Karma's a bitch.
 
I've gotta ask, why isn't he banned yet? It's pretty clear my stuff is never going to show up and Nirvanero is not going to get any sort of refund.
