Beware of nirvanero

I read the thread before it was deleted and it had no pictures then. It did say NIB though.

If you mean the thread in which he was selling the knife, I don't know when you read it, but it had two photos after brjohnson3 asked for them.

After selling it to me I had to tell him why the thread was still open and then he edited his post:

"It will be cheaper ob BF - it's just cost more here in Canada
our cost is around $250 after shipping and taxes
I forgot to edit the post - mea culpa"

Ahh. At least we "kind of" got an answer. You're saying those are pictures of a different S90V Military. And, from what I can gather, you're saying you will not accept the knife in the picture as being "your" knife? I'll go ahead and say this: I think you've acted shady throughout this entire thing. I think you're being evasive, and you've got something to hide. You refuse to directly answer questions, and once the tides turned against you... you say you're not going to participate in the thread -you- started. Regardless of the outcome of this transaction, I will not be dealing with you in the future. And, I'm probably not the only one who feels like this. I don't think you've handled business like a man should. Period.
+1 Very succinct and spot on.

Answer the Question= Is that the knife you shipped.

Simple- straight forward and to the point. Is it?

It’s lame to use the members “new” status as some form of defense. Your lack of addressing the basic question- “is that the knife you shipped” puts your credibility to doubt.

To be honest,a few months ago,I was going to purchase a S90V Manix2 from "benyaM95 Ranger Knif" FS and had been communicating for a few days but lost out when I didn't get back to him fast enough to his liking.Which he had every right to do but when I think of it now through the course of corresponding with him,I did ask him to clarify the description of his knife and he responded,"Hi, Looks like I made a mistake in description,Knife is TOTALLY NIB,There isn't any issues with it what so ever."

Then a few days later, what caught me odd was that he was responding to a WTS post for the exact item which he just sold. For some reason Igor decided to sell his knife and purchase another of the exact same.

On top of that I told him that I wanted to pay with a MO and he suggested that I put his father's name on it so it would no show on his bank account.

Lately, with Igor what I find odd is that after a deal is completed all the pictures and descriptions are full deleted, which totally unlike other BF sellers.Normally it's marked sold next to the last price or the price deleted and marked sold.

If Igor can confirm the picture are indeed his knife and because he was not able to be truthful with his desciption, he should reimburse the buyer the purchase price + shipping.

I'm almost sure this knife was bought and sharpened by him in order to sell it as "new". He told me about a Para 2 CF coming this week and he was going to sell it for $300, but I told him it was too much. He seems to always be trading and that's fine as long as he doesn't fool anybody.

I think he had plenty of time for answering but just keeps saying thinks like if I'm not happy must send back "his NIB knife" and why couldn't that photos be of "a different knife"... his behaviour means only one thing to me.

Hi nirvanero -

If you viewed the images on your computer, and you have not "cleaned up your temporary internet files", you should be able to get into your cache and find the images that were posted by the seller.

If the seller had the pictures hosted online outside of BF, they should still be on the server irregardless of what happened to the sellers personal computer.

At the very least, the buyer has a very nice knife that he can use and enjoy.

I hope for a satisfactory resolution for you both.

best regards -

Hi mqqn

I guess Igor should know which server the photos are located in, I'm just waiting what he has to say about this. But I really don't care about that photos as the point is he described the knife as NIB while been re-sharpened. If he had pointed this out then I wouldn't pay that very much.

Now I have a very nice knife but that's not the NIB knife I paid for.

As you say, at the very last people should be warned about all of this and will be more cautious on the condition of the knife they're getting.

Yep, this pretty much says it all, +1

I almost hate to bring this up, but I feel like folks need to know.

In Feb. of 2009, I sold a knife to Igor "benyaM95 Ranger Knif" and while as far as I know it went OK, since I never heard from him again after shipping the knife, because I was unwilling to ship a Buck 110 to Canada for fear of their customs seizing it, he gave me a US address to ship to, with a different name than what was on his PayPal account, and the email address he was using was not the same as the one on the PayPal account.

This made me a little nervous, and so I did some google work and discovered that the Email address he was using, omaha888@gmail.com, was the same address used by a member here that disappeared after another "deal gone bad" scandal, username Saf-t-cab

Igor has been here over 4 years with an excellent transaction history. 55 positive feedback plus positive transactions where feedback wasn't left plus who knows how many positive transactions before itrader was even active. Roberto has been here 3 weeks, has no transaction history, and has no post history outside of this mess, yet people are hurling stones at Igor like he's some kind of rampant scammer. What up with that? Calling him a hypocrite and a bully? Bah.

I'm not taking sides on this thing as I don't know Roberto from Adam, but I know I'd deal with Igor any day and get exactly what he told me I was getting.

+1:thumbup: This thread smacks of lynch mob mentality, pseudo expert opinions flying rampant, you have the nerve to call Igor a bully? What do you call a bunch of people pronouncing you guilty because they have become "professional photograph analysts". I find it sad that so many are so quick to rush to judgement, in Igors place I dont know that any of you would have acted differently. I have dealt with Igor and so have 55+ others here on Bladeforums, he is honourable and forthright and I will stand by that until proven differently, not by conjecture, but by solid proof in my hands. Do any of you accusers have that?

I'm not shocked.

Since everyone else is speaking up.I feel obligated to do so too.

I had a sour deal with benyaM95 Ranger Knif in March of 2008.I was still relatively new to the forum & didn't want to make any waves,so we agreed to leave each other positive feedback. The whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth,& made me very leery of trading in general.

Here's the FS thread
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=543955

It's no big secret since this is what he left in my feedback. It's my first iTrader feedback BTW if you want to check.
sent JTR357 a knife previously purchased on BF as NIB, without seeing the knife(it was part of cache of knives destine to Canada)
He checked it and sent me his knife next day. I should've been more careful about checking the knife in the first place.

Igor sent me a not just used, but a beat to hell Buck 880T in trade for my brand spankin new in box Kershaw SG2 Blur. The Buck looked like it was used for work on a construction site. The blade was scratched up,uncentered,& rubbing the one side of the liner.Igor said he didn't see it before it was shipped.Yet he claimed it was brand new in his trade description.
Yes.
Its NIB
you can reach me through email as well
synayuk@cabletv.on.ca
I sent the Blur to an American address too,but don't remember where.

Igor,I'm not trying to jump on the dogpile but I feel the other forumites should know you traded me a used knife that you claimed was BNIB for my very BNIB knife. Now I see it's starting to look like a pattern. You need to STOP doing this to people.

If he is so forthright and honorable, why cant he simply answer a few questions? Im not arguing with what you are saying, but the dude is beating around the bush. Tell me why his situation with the sharpening stones is any different then this situation, please, Im waiting. Had heiheit acted this way, Benya WOULD NOT of accepted it. Why is he exempt?

Fair Lawn, NJ maybe?

That is where he wanted me to ship a knife he bought from me but I was a day late shipping it off so I ask for his Canada address and sent it there instead. The day he got the knife he relisted it for sale in the Canadian forum for more then I sold it to him for. What really got me though was he used the photo I had in my description when I sold it to him. I emailed him and ask him to please remove my photo and use his own. He agreed.

We oughtta make a "Questionable Dealings" thread and list the names of the guys like Benya and Larry Harley et al who do stuff like this to other members. It would be pretty hard to police though and I'm sure some people would be added out of spite.

I think we are past just the deal between nirvanero and Benya, too many members reporting issues with Benya. Too bad those were not properly reported and negative feedback left at the time.

It's curious how a honourable and fortright person have sold used knives as NIB not only to me, but various members from this forum.

i dont want to take a side prematurely but this seems odd to me,

in the thread BCCL linked to the member "saf t cab" has the same last name as the email addy supplied by JTR357.

BCCL thread

do you collect anything specific? Benchmade, Spyderco?
would you considere to sell in case I don't have what you want?
by the way, does it has old Benchmade logo or the new one?
Thanks

Yes.

now i could be offbase or not understanding everything 100% but the fact that the old member "saf t cab" and benya have the same last name is suspect to me.

Apologies to you for the initial doubts. Looks like there is a pattern here. :( Best wishes for some positive resolution in your favor.

You could see it that way, but it's the same in every situation two people have different interests. I've just told my version and upload photos. He only says that I "blackmailed him"... blackmailing for what? If he's right then it's not blackmailing. If he's wrong it's not blackmailing neither... I'm asking for what I deserve, just the way he did before me.

I'm really not looking for making him the bad guy. I just wanna pay for a used knife or get my $395 back. I don't care about him selling knifes to other people.
