BladeChick777 Bad Trade!

A $35.00 knife traded for a $35.00 knife. Both made overseas so cheaply they come in clampacks, not felted boxes. The manufacturers of those knives are not making art, they are making knives which meet the standards set by their importers, mostly price-point. If I had traded a $500 knife handmade by Darrel Ralph for a $500 knife handmade by Ken Onion, I would expect high quality and near perfection of fit and finish. Not so much in a knife I could buy from a rack in K-mart or Walmart. Unsatisfied? Untrade.

Exactly what I was thinking! These are cheapo knives...what a big deal over nothing.

Be HONEST, take as much detailed pictures as possible, and ask a bunch of questions, are what I've learned so far from my short time here on the forums. Your reputation counts as much as the knife or item you're pushing, make sure both parties are happy. If not, undo the deal, don't make excuses and own up to it.

I Don't Know Why We Cannot Just Drop The Whole Thing.
I Have Apologized.
I Have Righted The Wrong.
I Sent The Knife Back.
Now I'm Just Respectfully Waiting For thebrain To Get His Knife.
So Then I Can Get Mine Back.
And I Will Get A Camera When I Can, I Really Don't Have The Money And Have Been Looking To Trade For One.
And I Will Definitely Take Good Detailed Pics Once I Get Said Camera.
Thanks Richard.

And At The Moment I Wasn't Really Thinking, And I Then Righted The Wrong, Like Said In Above Post.
So Really, The Whole Situation Is Taken Care Of. I Owned Up To Being Wrong, I'm Deeply Sorry And Apologetic For How I Acted. And Now We Just Move On And Chalk It Up As A Lesson Learned.

bladechick, if you need some pictures taken, i'm about a half hour from you and although my camera skills suck, i have suprised myself and taken some good pictures before.

+1 for a generous offer Richard!

After reading this thread, I would say that two reputations have been ruined. This thread will come up in search when both parties want to trade again. People will make their judgements.

Wow Thanks So Much Richard That Would Be Awesome Sometime. Maybe We Can Become Friends. I'm Always Down For More Knife Friends Lol.

how do you figure that? bladechick is working on making it right with thebrain. if she takes pictures of every knife she trades and is honest about any marks on a used knife, i dont see any problems. i'm sure she has learned a lesson on what to do and what not to do when it comes to trades.

I Really Really Have. Now I Just Need To Get A Good Camera.
I'd Like To Have My Own As Well, Doesn't Have To Be Anything Special Just So It Takes Pics.

Great! Everyone wins! The knife peeps! The people in china that make the knives! The camera people! Singles everywhere!

Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win! Win!

I think Bladechick handled this as best she could .

On the other hand expecting flawless FF on a cheap Chinese clam-pack knife is a bit silly .

1234,,,,,:)

FIRST THING , SHE IS FIXING THE PROBLEM AND ADMITS TO NOT FOLLOWING TRADE RULES! It seems some of the readers of this thread are missing the point.
This isn`t about fit and finish or knife value/shipping cost it is about trade etiquette. A description of the wear on the item would have avoided the entire thing. I agree she has fixed the situation (once I get my knife back) but if she had understood the trade forums rules BEFORE trading like the sticky says and if she had been reasonable about returning my item things could have been much better.
\/ This is what I am talking about \/
1.Provide an honest and detailed description.
2.Provide as many photos as possible, in the best lighting possible. ( To be fair I didn`t ask for photos I thought rule #1 was good enough )
3.When in doubt, be pessimistic with your descriptions. ( Could have saved us both from any problems)
4.Be specific with all details of payment and delivery. Ship promptly, ship with insurance unless the buyer specifies otherwise.
5.Do not sell defective products, or attempt to hide defects ( Isn`t omission and hiding the same thing? on purpose or not)
I did not want to start this thread it came to this after talking with her failed . I didn`t want her to continue trading in that fashion with others ,this was an attempt to protect other forum members from bad trades.
She has learned her lesson and I hope others have learned from my mistakes as well E.g. not asking more questions, asking for photos, not waiting for her item to arrive before sending mine, not asking around about a person before a trade and the like.

Seconded.

as to how she types, while I'm sure it slows things down for her, it's kinda cool to read, it's almost like she works for a design company, after a while it might get tiring but for short stuff it stands out a bit more. to me.

I know an old guy that uses big font and all caps because his eyes are bad, horrible emails to read.

Things Are Fixed This Whole Situation And Conversation Should Just Be Done With With.
And Thank You Dago.
thebrain Is Getting His Knife Back, Now I'm Just Waiting For Him To Receive It And Return Mine.
Everything Is Over With.
It Wasn't A Good Situation For Either thebrain Or Myself, Things Have Been Taken Care Of.
We Both Know What Needs To Be Done In Future Situations.
End Of Story.

Always in a rush Bladechick777 it isn`t over until we BOTH get our items back in the condition sent. I am starting to think you would never have returned my knife if it hadn`t been for this thread and the people calling for you to do so. Did you really learn a lesson or did you just get caught?
