Blades upon Books - Traditionals

I attempted to have each knife matched up with a book in some way.

The knife here is listed as one of the Official knives in the Handbook that year.

I was a big fan of the Lone Ranger when I was a kid.

Guess...

Another of my heroes with a knife from the same country.

That Last Lion is a crazy good bio. I have the first one dealing from birth on up to 1932, bought it from the local public library for $0.50. Their loss.

I've always wondered what kind of knife Churchill carried. And the best of the three is the 2nd book in my opinion.

Love books on history but when I just want to be transported to an earlier, simpler time this book is one of my all time favorites. Have read it several times:o

This is the downside of having all ebooks. I have nothing left to photograph[emoji15]

My older eyes appreciate the larger text and brighter view I can select. I do most of bladeforums reading, book and news reading on a tablet.
I think Hamilton would have liked to carry this nice stag shadow.

Agree with both points Gary. I can hardly read on paper anymore. I do read Blade Forums mostly on the computer instead of the iPad.

Jolipapa gave me this very interesting book last year as a present. Good to help me improve my reading of French. He also included other goodies such as a Total petrol keyring from the 60s with a floating Citroen DS19 in it (iconic European car) and this very nice faux Tortoise Shadow. Great stuff Alain!

Dean, your photos are examples of my favorite kind of book/knife pics in which there's some kind of thematic connection between knife and book. Before this thread ever started, kenspen had been posting some really clever photos of this type; I hope he puts some of his in this thread eventually! Good to see your Lone Ranger knives, too! ;)

I took a photo of a gift knife (thanks, Dan) a couple of years ago that has a thematic connection. I like the knife, and the book author, although the pictured book requires a suspension of disbelief that I just couldn't provide! :o
