"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Ethan Wayne. Born 1830 (after 17 hours labor) said. 8 lbs 10 oz, 21.75" long, 14.25" head! Wife's a trooper, I tell ya.

Congratulations! Someone to share my birthday with!

As you may have seen me post elsewhere, I love children. I am very involved in my nephews' lives, especially since I can't have kids of my own.

Emmett and Graham. Graham turned 3 a few weeks ago, and Emmett will be 4 on May 2nd.

And my sister is due with her third in September, and in all likelihood it will be another boy. I told my sister that if it is another boy, I'd adopt Emmett to make it easier on her.

Mint is good Jack but I just can't bring myself to pack them up and leave them alone most of the time. The ones that you and other folks have given to me are the ones it's easy to set aside because of the sentimental value I want to protect them. A good example a couple of months ago in a conversation with Barry (Gunstock Jack) I discovered he had a NIT Washington Jack we struck a deal and I bought it. I had full intentions of placing it in the locking Cherry wood, felt lined box I use for my safe queens. The knife is lying on the end table next to my chair with about 10 other knives I've been carrying lately. Oh yea I paid as much if not more for this knife as I ever have for a production slipjoint. At the same time the Boker Slim Line Trapper you gave to me is in the Cherry Wood Box

agreed, its tough to carry knives that have sentimental value. They are irreplaceable if lost. I go to work in scrubs monday to friday and those pockets are not the most secure pockets, they are not even deep. Most times I carry something I wouldnt lose sleep over if Im not too much in a hurry getting ready.

Congrats SVT! Go buy yourself and your son a new knife! My grandfather bought me my first knife on the day I was born, and gave it to my parents, to then give it to me once I turned 6 years old.

Thanks everyone!

Paul, I got a little dust in my eyes twice. Once when mrs svt did cause she was hurting and then when he was actually out and I saw him.

KOD happy birthday!

And meako, no sir. This is my 2nd and her 4th. If we ever figure out what causes these things, we'll get it fixed! Lol.
