Rodents? In a House with a Cat?? Not in mine :D and it gets to -36c sometimes outside:eek: They just don't dare:D:D

Sure she looks like a pretty scary dude! :D:D

72º yesterday afternoon; 29º through the night -- no snow. We need snow.:) I bought a new leaf blower to use as a snow blower last year. It worked great. All the snow shovels have been checked out and are ready to go and my small garden tractor with plow is gassed up, oiled, and ready to go. It has snowed here as early as 6 September since we've lived here and as late as mid-June. About four years ago, we woke up the morning after Thanksgiving Day and there was about two feet of snow on the ground that had fallen overnight. Now that was a happy day. The couple/three feral cats we have around here take shelter and sleep in the wood shed

funny, ive read some where its because they dont think you can hunt for yourself, so they bring you food! :D

In my experience with cats, they seem better at importing rodents than dispatching them. Nothing like chasing a vole through the house trying to catch it and get it back outside.

I don't think they were bringing us food. I think they were stocking their own private game preserve.

That's why I'll never have a cat-door again. I once had a cat that liked to bring in live toys to play with: snakes, cicadas, etc.

Oh R8shell I hope that lovely wee Lizard lived? :(
I hope so. I took it from her and let it go under the sago palm in the back of the yard. It didn't have any puncture marks that I could see, but it was rather distressed. :(

Mine's very keen on lizards...but she brings me no presents as she's very possessive and fears I might want a shareo_O However she killed a vole early one morning in the bedroom and the squeaking was pitiful before the devouring...Nature is not a Disney thing:eek:

Ed, I see you are in NE CA. Must be up in the mountains? I'd think the weather is much milder on the coast.

We have a feral cat which lives in our yard. We feed her every morning, then she disappears. However, we live on the edge of an undeveloped area. Before that cat showed up we had rodent invasions in the house every spring and fall. The dog is fairly useless in stopping such. But once the cat started living outside, the invasions stopped. We do find an occasional mouse or rabbit skull left at the door. But we figure a skull is better than live mice entering the house.

Just watched the news and of course the main story was about the Las Vegas shooting. I can not get in my head how a person could just slaughter innocent people. My heart and prayers go out to those families that lost loved ones and those that were injured as well as all those that had to live through such a horrific event. These folks were just having a fun evening out and never in their wildest dreams even thought of something like this happening. I guess it goes to show you just never know what's going to happen next.
