Jerry, I have nothing but respect for your support and loyalty to a friend. But this point you bring up does not really carry any weight. If a person goes over to a certain green forum to say anything negative about Mick, they will find themselves banned rather quickly. Look at me - I made a comment HERE, not there, and still got banned. It's not conducive to an open dialogue when one side only is doing the talking. Let's not ascribe too much importance to this particular thing.

I don't know Jerry, but I see that you give him a far bigger benefit of the doubt than you've given me. Maybe I should spend 5 years in jail and then reinvent myself as some sort of special operations legend, then I can just say whatever the hell I feel like, right?
I don't think so in the least. My position here is just "the dude who owns BladeForums.com" - I don't ask, nor do I want to have any sort of cult of personality. I'm asking people to think for themselves and decide on their own what they think and feel; I'm not saying "it's my way or the highway" with anything other than site policy. If you think I have some cabal of rabid supporters, you'd be wrong. Now, that said, there are some people who agree with me on this issue, and have said so publicly. That means nothing more than we agree.
And I've observed several who've had posts or threads edit or deleted. More than a couple have had their memberships at other forums banned. I know of one person in particular who had his job called because of this, so please don't act like there isn't an effort to shut people up.
Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then, because I've talked with Mick Strider and had him shake my hand and smile at me, and all the rest, and then turn around and not follow through on things he promised in person. I've tried to call him in the past, only to have him dodge those calls, and guess what? I'm not the only one he's dodged phonecalls from either. So, Jerry, I guess your experience is subjective. I've also experienced Mick Strider's not confronting me directly when he was having issues, and instead he chose to create massive amounts of animosity where none otherwise would have occured. In conclusion, your mileage may vary and those standards of yours seem to be awfully convient only when it suits you

I can't speak for green; I haven't been there in quite awhile myself. I was referring to black. I can't promise you won't get banned, but certainly not by me so long as your discussion remains civil. I would suggest however that you spend some time looking around and gaining a sense of the people there before you mount your horse and ride into battle. I think you'll be surprised by the nature of the discussions and the congeniality of the atmosphere, though this topic has aroused som emotions. And BTW, some from there have been banned here, so there is some tit for tat.
Kevin, I guess we've been sitting on opposite sides of the car and the scenery has differed on each. I'm pretty sure my view hasn't entirely been an illusion. I also believe your arguments with the Strider Guys were based on legitimate differences of opinion. As for the calls, Mick is terrible beyond reason in returning them, even with me. Part of that is the quantity of calls he gets and in some cases his desire (or lack thereof) to return a call that can only lead to a new headache. I'm sure you're not suggesting you are without fault as well.
All experience is subjective. Consequences may or may not be.

The people from other sites that have been banned here, were done so for repeated personal attacks. To say it's "tit for tat" is entirely untrue. I've welcomed discussion, I've had my motives questioned, and all sorts of other stuff. I'm not going to just allow personal attacks for no reason.
As for "legitimate differences of opinion" that's one way to put it. Another would be that I won't tolerate being called a cocksucker by someone I've bent over backwards trying to help, who is too lazy or incompetent to ask for help, who's stabbed me in the back at every opportunity, and who's later revealed to be a liar. But hey, that's just me. I'd say I have a lot more "legitimate" reason to be disappointed with his actions than he does.

Thank you Jerry. I find that I have no trouble logging into green now, although over the weekend and earlier today I couldn't connect from home or work. Never had a problem with logging into black. Thanks again.

Your the first person I have EVER heard that says these rediculous comments about the use and durability of Emerson Knives. I have a couple and they have no problem cutting electrical wire, shaving large oak splinters from chunks of wood, thrusting into paneling and a garbage can. No chipping and only minor touch up that shaved hair on my arm. I have a 7,8 and 10. I didn't pay alot for these compaired to my Sebenzas and customs but they are well worth the money they sell for. And, try buying one of Ernie's Customs sometime. They are in HIGH Demand!!! I would put Ernie and one of his knives against anyone of the other two any day of the week.

3Guardsmen, I understand your point and mean no ill will toward you. I didn't realize just how long this thread was until after my post. I reacted to what I read but this would not have changed the reaction. I still would have responded to that load of crap in kind. I actually thought I was 1/2 way tactful about it.
That being said, I will say IMHO, Emerson knives in their price range are in the top couple knife companies out there. I have never met Ernie, but have been told buy several people in the forum that have met him that he is humble, knowledgable, generous and a stand-up guy. The guy actually makes knives, sells knives and knows how to use them(defense/offense).
